Maryland Mania

Maryland Mania was a soccer club based in Baltimore Maryland that competed in the A-League for one year, in 1999. The Mania's original home was UMBC Stadium in Catonsville, but they club relocated to Anne Arundel Community College midway through the season.

Coach

Justin Fashanu was hired to coach the Mania, but fled the United States during the pre-season when he was accused of sexually assaulting an underage boy. [1] He was replaced as coach by Darryl Gee who was replaced by Paul Kitson during the season.

He currently coaches at the Center for Soccer Excellence at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Russell Payne is am American soccer coach and former player. Payne is a former goalkeeper who is currently the head coach of the United States Military Academy men's soccer team. He played professionally in Germany, Ireland and Major League Soccer.

Curt Onalfo is an American former soccer player and coach who currently serves as Technical Director of Major League Soccer club New England Revolution.

Paul Young is a retired Jamaican soccer forward who played two seasons in Major League Soccer and several in the USISL and USL A-League. He also coached Portmore United, Waterhouse F.C. and August Town F.C. in the Jamaica National Premier League.

Real Maryland F.C.

Real Maryland F.C., commonly known as the Real Maryland Monarchs, was an American soccer team based in Rockville, Maryland, United States. Founded in 2007, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the South Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, having voluntarily self-relegated from the USL Second Division at the end of 2010. The team suspended operations after the 2012 season.

Gordon Bradley was an English-American soccer midfielder born and raised on Wearside who played several seasons with lower division English clubs before moving to play in Canada at the age of 30. During the Canadian off-season, he played and coached in the U.S.-based German American Soccer League. In 1971, he became a player and head coach for the New York Cosmos. In addition to coaching the Cosmos, he has coached the U.S. national team and at the collegiate and high school levels. Bradley also earned one cap with the U.S. national team in 1973. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Alexandre "Alex" Ely is a former U.S.-Brazilian soccer midfielder. Ely played extensively in the U.S., Canada and Brazil winning multiple league and cup titles. He also earned four caps with the U.S. national team between 1960 and 1965. In addition to his extensive professional resume, Ely coached at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Dragan "Don" Popovic is a retired professional soccer midfielder and coach in the United States. He played professionally in Yugoslavia, Canada and the North American Soccer League. He later coached in both the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League.

Todd Haskins is a retired American soccer Defender who played most of his career in beach soccer. He was a member of the U.S. U-16 national team at the 1989 FIFA U-16 World Championship and the U.S. Beach Soccer Team at the 2005 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Anibal “Steve” Armas is a retired American soccer midfielder who is a currently Associate Head Coach for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer program. Armas previously spent one season in Major League Soccer and several seasons in the United Soccer Leagues. He was a member of the United States U-17 men's national soccer team at the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Coaching wise he served as a head and assistant coach at Campbell University, Greensboro College and the Carolina Dynamo.

Omid Namazi

Omid Namazi is an American retired soccer defender and current assistant coach of Houston Dynamo in MLS. Namazi played professionally in the American Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League, Major League Soccer, USISL and National Professional Soccer League where he was the 2001 Defender of the Year and he played for United States national futsal team. He is a two-time Coach of the Year in the Major Indoor Soccer League and coached in the Women's United Soccer Association. As assistant coach of Iran, he led the team to qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Patrick Michael Mullins is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club Toronto FC.
