Masoro is a town and sector in the Rulindo district of Northern Province, Rwanda. It is characterized by a mountainous terrain which has inhibited the development of infrastructure. Masoro is home to several cooperatives and community based organizations. During the late 2010's and continuing today new roads have allowed Masoro and the region to become better connected to larger towns and cities such as Kigali.


Masoro, and the surrounding region have been the focus of a series of building projects. The Masoro Project is an ongoing project run by General Architecture Collaborative [1] using Earthbag construction in order to create easy to build, one and two floor houses for the people of Masoro. [2] The Masoro Health Center [3] is a healthcare and wellness center that operates as a community-focused and accessible campus. [4] The Learning and Sports Center combines sports leagues, fitness programs and classes with continuing education, technical training and internet-based instruction. The facility also provides spaces for concerts, plays, group events, as well as a library and sports fields. [5]

Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, also known as MEXT, Monka-shō, is one of the eleven Ministries of Japan that composes part of the executive branch of the Government of Japan. Their goal is to improve the development of Japan in relation with the international community. They are responsible for funding research under their jurisdiction, some of which includes: children's health in relation to home environment, delta-sigma modulations utilizing graphs, gender equality in sciences, and other general research for the future.

Architecture for Humanity was a US-based charitable organization that sought architectural solutions to humanitarian crises and brought professional design services to clients. Founded in 1999, it laid off its staff and closed down at the beginning of January 2015.

University of the Sunshine Coast

The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) is a public university based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. After opening with 524 students in 1996 as the Sunshine Coast University College, it was later renamed the University of the Sunshine Coast in 1999.

ARCHIVE Global

ARCHIVE Global is an international non-profit organization that focuses on the link between health and housing. ARCHIVE stands for Architecture for Health In Vulnerable Environments. ARCHIVE Global was founded by Utne Reader visionary Peter Williams in 2006. Initially started in the United States, the organization welcomed ARCHIVE UK, its first affiliate based in the United Kingdom in 2009. ARCHIVE currently has ongoing projects in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Haiti, and the UK. Projects implement design solutions in housing to combat diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, respiratory diseases, diarrheal diseases, and neglected tropical diseases. ARCHIVE Global is the winner of the 2013 Katerva Award for Urban Design, and was also named by Forbes magazine as one of the World's Best Sustainability ideas.

Learning space or learning setting refers to a physical setting for a learning environment, a place in which teaching and learning occur. The term is commonly used as a more definitive alternative to "classroom," but it may also refer to an indoor or outdoor location, either actual or virtual. Learning spaces are highly diverse in use, learning styles, configuration, location, and educational institution. They support a variety of pedagogies, including quiet study, passive or active learning, kinesthetic or physical learning, vocational learning, experiential learning, and others.

Baldivis Secondary College Public co-educational school

Baldivis Secondary College (BSC) is a high school located in Stillwater Drive, Baldivis, Western Australia. It is situated 46 km south of Perth and is the first public high-school in the Baldivis area of rockingham. Baldivis Secondary was first constructed in late 2012 and opened in 2013 and was completed 68 weeks later, in early 2015 and has been growing since then. The school currently holds approximately 1 800 students and 200 staff as of 2020, with the capacity to hold and educate 2 000 students in total approx, although the school is constantly growing to accommodate rapidly increasing number of students every year. Baldivis secondary college is a relatively new and vibrant learning community.
