MassKara Festival Queen is a local beauty pageant in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Begun in 1981, it is one of the highlights of a week-long celebration called the MassKara Festival. [1]

Negros Occidental, officially the Province of Negros Occidental (Hiligaynon: Kapuoran sang Nakatungdang Negros (Negros Occidental; Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Kanlurang Negros, is a province in the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. Its capital is the city of Bacolod, of which it is geographically situated and grouped under by the Philippine Statistics Authority, but remains politically independent from the provincial government. It occupies the northwestern half of the large island of Negros, and borders Negros Oriental, which comprises the southeastern half. The MassKara Festival is an annual festival with highlights held every 4th Sunday of October in Bacolod, Philippines. The festival sites include the Bacolod Public Plaza, the Lacson Tourism Strip and the Bacolod City Government Center.
The Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports Center is a multi-use gym located in Bacolod, fronting the Bacolod Public Plaza, in Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is used mostly for basketball, karatedo and boxing matches, and was used in events in the city like the MassKara Festival activities and other government related activities like seminars, business and political gatherings.
Miss Philippines Earth 2009 was the 9th edition of the Miss Philippines Earth pageant. The grand coronation night was held on May 10, 2009, at Filoil EcoOil Centre, San Juan. Fifty contestants competed for the title. The event was broadcast by ABS-CBN in the Philippines and by The Filipino Channel internationally.
The Bacolod Public Plaza, officially the Plaza del 6 de Noviembre, named after the day of the Spanish surrender of Negros Island to the Negros revolutionaries, is one of the notable landmarks of Bacolod, the capital of Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is located in the heart of the downtown area, near the old city hall and across from the San Sebastian Cathedral. The plaza is a trapezoidal park with a belt of trees around the periphery and a gazebo at the center. Scattered within the trees are four circular fountains.

She is a New York-educated nurse from Bacolod, Negros Occidental and was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2009 in San Juan City, Philippines. She represented her country in the Miss Earth 2009, the 9th edition of Miss Earth international pageant, where she was crowned Miss Earth Air on 22 November 2009.
Sipalay Airport, also known as San Jose Airstrip and formerly known as Maricalum Airstrip, is an airport serving the general area of the city of Sipalay, Negros Occidental, in the Philippines. It used to actively serve the private planes of mining companies present in the area. The airport serves occasional chartered planes en route to the commercial and private resorts in the area.

A total of 13 cities and municipalities sent their representatives. Ann Marie Malayo of Hinoba-an, crowned her successor, Mass Communication student Alyssa Marie E. Villarico of Bacolod City, at the end of the event.
Lin-ay sang Negros 2014, the 20th edition of the annual Lin-ay sang Negros pageant was held on April 4, 2014 at the Pana-ad Stadium. Twenty-two (22) ladies from different cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental participated in the pageant. Lin-ay sang Negros 2013 of Bacolod Samyah Al-dossary crowned Alexos Danica Drilon also of Bacolod.

Alexis Danica Drilon, a 4th year BS Biology of University of St. La Salle was crowned by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio "Bing" Leonardia at the end of the event.

MassKara Queen 2015 was the 35th edition of the MassKara Festival Queen pageant was held on October 12, 2015 at SMX Convention Center in SM City Bacolod in Bacolod City, Philippines. Sam Gergiana Yu, a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics major, was crowned by the outgoing winner Christine Joy Madamba at the end of the event.
The Paglaum Sports Complex is a sports venue in Bacolod, Philippines adjacent to the Negros Occidental High School. It was established during the administration of Governor Alfredo Montelibano Jr. in the 1970s. It hosted three editions of the Palarong Pambansa.
Mambukal Resort, officially the Township of Mambukal or simply known as Mambukal, is a resort township located within the boundaries of the municipality of Murcia, Negros Occidental. As a township, it is directly governed by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, which also manages Mambukal Mountain Resort in the 6-hectare townsite near Brgy. Minoyan. The resort is owned and managed by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental under its Economic Enterprise Development Department.
Capitol Central, previously called the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol Complex, is a government complex and mixed-use estate centered around the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol, currently co-managed with Ayala Land. Certain portions are leased or sold to Ayala Land, as part of their industrial estate in Bacolod, Philippines.
