The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) is a trade association of homebuilders, remodelers and associated businesses in the state of Washington. The association is the oldest and largest of the National Association of Home Builders more than 800 local home builders associations. [1]
MBAKS was founded in 1909 by a group of Seattle builders who saw the need to promote and protect the viability of the housing industry.
Today MBAKS has more than 4,300 members who employ more than 80,000 workers in the housing industry. Over its one-hundred years of operation, the association continues to take an active role in all facets of home construction in the Puget Sound region.
Its membership is dedicated to providing a wide range of housing choices, including affordable homes for the important first-time buyer market, and it supports transitional housing programs, workforce education and green building standards.
MBAKS has actively worked with local and state governments to develop laws to protect the environment while still providing attractive, affordable communities and homes for the families of the Puget Sound region.
MBAKS promotes continuing education to keep its membership current with the latest building innovations and safety procedures. The association also provides scholarships and training for students interested in pursuing a career in the industry.
MBAKS has two charitable foundations: Master Builders Care Foundation, which supports community projects and groups offering transitional housing and shelters; and Master Builders Career Connection, which provides scholarships and training for the residential construction trades.
MBAKS, in partnership with King and Snohomish counties, created the Built Green program, one of the nation's most successful green building programs. Built Green is a residential building program promoting environmentally sensitive building practices and products.
MBAKS is a sponsor of the annual Seattle Home Show and Seattle Home Show 2. The home show was started in 1939 as a way to showcase the housing industry and promote home sales during the Great Depression. It will celebrate its 69th annual year of operation in 2013.

Everett Station is an Amtrak train station serving the city of Everett, Washington, United States. The station has provided service to the Cascades and Empire Builder routes since its opening in 2002, replacing an earlier station near the Port of Everett. The four-story building also houses social service programs and is the center of a 10-acre (4 ha) complex that includes parking lots and a large bus station used primarily by Community Transit, Everett Transit, and Sound Transit Express. The station has served as the northern terminus of the Sounder N Line since 2003 and the Swift Blue Line since 2009. It consists of two side platforms, one serving Amtrak and the other serving Sounder commuter trains. Everett Station also functions as a park and ride, with 1,067 short-term parking spaces located in lots around the station after it was expanded by Sound Transit in 2009.

Secondary suites (also known as accessory dwelling units (ADU), in-law apartments, granny flats, granny annexes or garden suites) are self-contained apartments, cottages, or small residential units, that are located on a property that has a separate main, single-family home, duplex, or other residential unit. In some cases, the ADU or in-law is attached to the principal dwelling or is an entirely separate unit, located above a garage, across a carport, or in the backyard on the same property. Reasons for wanting to add a secondary suite to a property may be to receive additional income, provide social and personal support to a family member, or obtain greater security.

The largest trade organization in Washington State, BIAW's membership comprises about 8,000 member companies, home builders, trade contractors, suppliers and industry professionals.
The Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) is a not-for-profit organization representing residential construction and related industry firms in Canada. It was founded in 1943, following closely the adoption of the National Building Code of Canada in 1941, and today claims a membership of over 9000. The organization represents member interests to local, provincial and federal governments, and develops positions and solutions to support technical currency and solution pathways for members. Member companies include home builders and renovators, land developers, trade contractors, product and material manufacturers, building product suppliers, lending institutions, insurance providers, and service professionals.
The Spring District is a transit-oriented development and neighborhood that is under construction in Bellevue, Washington. The 16-block, 36-acre (15 ha) development is centered around the Spring District station on the East Link Extension, a light rail line in the Link light rail system. It is located in the Bel-Red area between Downtown Bellevue and Redmond, currently used for light industry, roughly bounded on the west by 120th Avenue NE and the Eastside Rail Corridor rail trail, on the north by a King County Metro bus base, on the east by 124th Avenue NE, and on the south by NE 12th Street.
