Mateja Robnik (born April 6, 1987, in Celje, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian alpine skier.
Robnik represented Slovenia at two skiing world championships, both times in the Giant Slalom. Her World Cup debut was in 2004, but her best result so far is 11th place in Giant Slalom (Aspen, 2008). [1]

Mateja Svet ; born 16 August 1968) is a Slovenian former alpine skier, who competed for Yugoslavia from 1984 to 1990.
Vanessa-Mae, also called Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson, is a British violinist with album sales reaching several million, having made her the wealthiest entertainer under 30 in the United Kingdom in 2006. She competed under the name Vanessa Vanakorn for Thailand in alpine skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics. She was initially banned from skiing by the International Ski Federation (FIS) after participating in a qualifying race allegedly organised to enable her to qualify for the Winter Olympics. An appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport led to the ban being nullified, citing lack of evidence for her own wrongdoing or any manipulation. The FIS later issued an apology to her.

Kranjska Gora Ski Resort is Slovenia's oldest ski resort at Kranjska Gora, Upper Carniola, opened in 1948. It is divided into five different sections under the Vitranc Mountain, stretched throughout the whole valley of the same name municipality: Mojstrana, Kranjska Gora, Planica, Podkoren 1, and Podkoren 2. Sport in Yugoslavia had a significant role in its culture and society. Team sports such as football, basketball, handball, volleyball and water polo had the biggest popularity. Of individual sports the most popular were tennis, athletics, alpine skiing, swimming, table tennis, ski jumping and chess. Yugoslavia made its debut at the Summer Olympics in 1920. Until its break up in 1992, it competed in 16 Summer and 14 Winter Olympic games and won a total of 87 medals in various summer and winter sports. Yugoslavia hosted its first and the only Winter Olympic games in 1984 in Sarajevo when Jure Franko won country's first Winter Olympic medal, silver in alpine skiing.
Thailand competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014. The Thai team consisted of two athletes, Vanessa Vanakorn and Kanes Sucharitakul, both competing in alpine skiing. This was Thailand's third appearance at a Winter Olympic Games, and their first since 2006, having missed the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Gloria Kotnik is a Slovenian snowboarder. She competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where she finished 27th in parallel giant slalom. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she finished 24th in parallel giant slalom. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the women's parallel giant slalom event. This was also her first podium in career as her best results in World Cup competition prior to the 2022 Olympics were three fourth places.
The 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships were held in Vermont and Vermont on March 6–9, 2013. Middlebury College hosted the event with alpine events at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Nordic events taking place at the Rikert Nordic Center. The competition was won by the Colorado Buffaloes after compiling the largest final-day comeback in NCAA Skiing Championships history. Twenty-one teams from three regions sent skiers to compete for the NCAA collegiate team championship and individual titles.
The 2014 NCAA Skiing Championships were held in Park City, Utah and Midway, Utah on March 5–8, 2014. Utah hosted the event with alpine events at Park City Ski Resort and Nordic events taking place at Soldier Hollow in nearby Midway, UT. Utah hosted for the fourth time, all have happened in Park City, the other times being 1981, 1991 and 2000.
