Mats Grorud (born 1 August 1976) is a Norwegian director and animator. [1] [2] He is best known for his work on the films The Tower , Min Bestemor Beijing and more. [3] [4]

Life and career

Mats was born and raised in Tønsberg, Norway. He studied animation at the Volda University College. [5] His animated short film Min Bestemor Beijing (My Grandmother Beijing) screened at Lübeck Nordic Film Days [6] In 2018, his debut animated feature film The Tower premiered in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival [7] [8]

<i>Pat & Mat</i> Czechoslovak stop-motion animated series

Pat & Mat is a Czechoslovak slapstick stop-motion animated series created by Lubomír Beneš and Vladimír Jiránek. The characters first appeared in the theatrically released short Kuťáci (Tinkers) in 1976, while the first made-for-TV episode Tapety (Wallpaper) was produced for ČST Bratislava three years later. The main characters of the series are two handymen, Pat and Mat, who are inventive, but extremely clumsy. As of 2021, 129 episodes of the show have been released, and it has been syndicated in a large number of countries due to its lack of dialogue.

Adam is a 1992 British 6-minute stop motion clay animated short film written, animated and directed by Peter Lord of Aardman Animations. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short and the equivalent award at BAFTA in 1992, and won two awards at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 1993. It is based on the beginning of the Book of Genesis. It was distributed by Aardman Animations.

This is the first animated feature that was made in Chile in collaboration with Brazil and this is the first Chilean-Brazilian 2D animated film that entered the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France on June 15, 2020 and in Chile on January 20, 2022.
