Matt Deis is an American bass guitarist. Originally from West Springfield, Massachusetts, he is best known as the bassist of the rock band CKY with whom he performed with between 2005 and 2010, returning in 2015 and departing again in 2019, and the current bassist of metalcore band All That Remains, with whom he performed between 2003 and 2005, but made his return in 2022. From 2019 to 2020, Deis performed with American Idol finalist Tristan McIntosh. From summer 2021-22, Deis was the touring bassist for country music duo, Thompson Square, until leaving to rejoin All That Remains. [1] Deis filled in with Saving Abel on select dates in the summer of 2023. [2] In the fall of 2023, Deis served as touring bassist for country artist, Mitchell Tenpenny.

Early life

Deis lived in New Hampshire until the age of four when his family moved to West Springfield, Massachusetts. He started taking guitar lessons from Oli Herbert of All That Remains, and eventually started playing bass for the band. During his time in All That Remains, Deis co-wrote and played bass on their album This Darkened Heart . Tours with bands such as Gwar, Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, and Killswitch Engage followed.

In 2005, Deis auditioned for and subsequently joined CKY. He has since toured across the United States, Australia and Europe with the band.

In 2010, Deis departed CKY stating he was unable to commit to the band while experiencing health issues.

In 2015, Deis reunited with CKY for a concert in Cleveland, Ohio which benefited the family of Ryan Dunn. CKY then entered the studio with Deis to record the album The Phoenix . Deis appeared in the music videos for the songs "Head For a Breakdown", "Replaceable", and "Wiping Off the Dead". In the summer of 2019, Deis released a statement outlining his departure for the band and offering his support and thanks to the band, their crew, and their fans. [3]

Margera has also appeared in the CKY video series and the Viva La Bam and Jackass television series alongside his brother Bam.

This Darkened Heart is the second studio album by the metalcore band All That Remains, released on March 23, 2004. It includes the singles "This Darkened Heart", "Tattered on My Sleeve" and "The Deepest Gray", all three of which had music videos created for them. The album was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who previously produced the band's debut.

The group currently consists of vocalist Philip Labonte, rhythm guitarist Mike Martin, and lead guitarist Jason Richardson, with Labonte being the last remaining original member. In spite of this, the band's line-up had remained consistent from the release of 2008's Overcome until 2015's The Order of Things, spanning four albums. The Undiscovered Numbers & Colors is the debut extended play (EP) by American alternative metal band Foreign Objects. Recorded at Trix Trax Recording Studios in Malvern, Pennsylvania, it was released by Distant Recordings on October 1, 1995. The EP was the first release by band members Deron Miller and Jess Margera, who would later go on to form CKY. It was later remixed and remastered for the 2004 collection Universal Culture Shock/Undiscovered Numbers & Colors.

96 Bitter Beings is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles. Formed in 2016 by former CKY frontman Deron Miller, the group was originally known as MechaCKY and intended to serve as the vocalist and guitarist's own continuation of the group following his departure in 2011. Miller completed the band's initial lineup with the same three members as had been in the relaunched Foreign Objects – lead guitarist Kenneth Hunter, bassist Shaun Luera and drummer Tim Luera. Later that year, MechaCKY was renamed 96 Bitter Beings, after the CKY song "96 Quite Bitter Beings".
