Matthew Elliot Jones (born December 5, 1994) is an American former professional basketball player. He played four seasons of college basketball for Duke University.
During Jones's career at DeSoto High School, the team had a 131–18 record, and he was named All-State, 2nd team All-American from MaxPreps, and played in both the Jordan Classic and the McDonald's All-American Game. On November 28, 2011, Jones committed to Duke University. [1]
Jones was on Duke's 2014–15 NCAA Championship team. [2] After Rasheed Sulaimon was dismissed, Jones was moved into the starting lineup. “I’ve definitely tried to grasp it and take ahold of it,” Jones said.. “Obviously we didn’t want Rasheed to leave, but at the same time, personally, I was ecstatic about it. I just told myself that it was my moment now, and I had to just take advantage of it.” [3]
In the Elite Eight, he scored 16 points, going 4-for-7 on three-pointers in a win against Gonzaga. As a result, he was named to the South Region all-tournament team. [4] The all-regional performance came at NRG Stadium in Houston, just over 3 hours away from Jones' home in DeSoto, Texas. [5]
After winning the National championship in his sophomore season, Jones returned to Duke, where as a junior he averaged 10.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. [6]
After going undrafted, Jones joined the Reno Bighorns of the NBA G League. [7] He remained on the team as it became the Stockton Kings. [8]
He has two sisters and a brother, Mason, who was a player at the University of Arkansas, and now as a professional. One sister, Jordan, also played in the McDonald's high school basketball game—they are the 3rd brother/sister duo to play in that all star game. [9]

Eric Musselman is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at the University of Southern California. He is the former head coach at the University of Arkansas, University of Nevada, Reno, the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Between head coaching stints at Golden State and Sacramento, Musselman served as an assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies under Mike Fratello. He moved to the college coaching ranks in 2012 as an assistant at Arizona State. From 2014–19, he was the head coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack. The son of former NBA head coach Bill Musselman, Eric Musselman was a head coach in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) before becoming an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks.

He was the primary reserve off the bench for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team during the 2014–15 season before being dismissed from the team on January 29, 2015. He subsequently transferred to Maryland for his senior season.

Tyus Robert Jones is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The older brother of NBA player Tre Jones, he previously played for his hometown team, the Minnesota Timberwolves for four seasons, before signing with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2019 offseason. After 4 seasons with the team, he was traded to the Washington Wizards. He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils in his freshman season as part of the 2014–15 National Championship team.
The 2014–15 Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team represented Duke University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team played its home games in Durham, North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium, celebrating the arena's 75th anniversary. Mike Krzyzewski led the team as head coach in his 35th season with the Blue Devils. During the season, Krzyzewski became the first head coach in Division I men's basketball history to win 1,000 games. On the court, the team featured All-ACC players Jahlil Okafor, Quinn Cook, and Tyus Jones, with Okafor being named ACC Player of the Year and National Freshman of the Year.

Banchero was named the Rookie of the Year of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 2022. Following his freshman season, he declared for the 2022 NBA draft, where he was selected with the first overall pick by the Orlando Magic. Banchero was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2023.
