Matthew "Matt" Oswalt (born September 25, 1970) is an American writer, actor and comedian. He is the younger brother of the comedian Patton Oswalt.

Patton Peter Oswalt is an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor and writer, known for playing Spencer Olchin in the sitcom The King of Queens (1998–2007), voicing Remy in the Pixar film Ratatouille (2007), starring opposite Charlize Theron in Young Adult (2011) and guest starring as the Koenigs on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014–2017). Matt Oswalt was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on September 25, 1970, the son of Carla Oswalt (née Runfola) and Larry J. Oswalt, who was a United States Marine Corps officer. [1] He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1995.[ citation needed ]

Oswalt's first television credit was as a writer for the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That . He was a staff writer on Mystery Science Theater 3000 . [2]

The series originally aired on Nickelodeon from April 16, 1994 to October 22, 2005, lasting ten seasons, and was produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions. The pilot episode was originally shown as a special "sneak peek", with the show officially debuting a regular series on December 24, 1994.

<i>Mystery Science Theater 3000</i> television series

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) is an American television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson and currently produced by Alternaversal Productions, LLC. The show premiered on KTMA-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 24, 1988. It later aired on The Comedy Channel/Comedy Central for seven seasons until its cancellation in 1996. Thereafter, it was picked up by The Sci-Fi Channel and aired for three seasons until another cancellation in August 1999. A 60-episode syndication package titled The Mystery Science Theater Hour was produced in 1995. In 2015, Hodgson led a crowdfunded revival of the series with 14 episodes in its eleventh season, first released on Netflix on April 14, 2017, with another six-episode season following on November 22, 2018. As of 2019, 217 episodes and a feature film have been produced.

He convinced the actor Mark Hamill via Twitter to recite actual tweets written by Trump in the sinister voice of the Joker character from the Batman franchise. [13]

In 2014, his brother Patton Oswalt said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he had once received a wooden plaque featuring carvings of all of his pre-fame occupations as an unwelcome and envious gift from his younger brother. [16]
