Matt Pitman is an American public address announcer, most recently with the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Pitman was passionate for sports from a young age. He attended Interlake High School, where he participated in various school activities and developed an interest in broadcasting.
Pitman's professional career began at KIRO (AM) in Seattle, where he became a familiar voice covering all major Seattle sports teams. His versatility saw him anchoring radio shows, reporting on games, and contributing to pre- and post-game broadcasts for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball.
In 2004, Pitman stepped into the KeyArena as the public address announcer for the Seattle SuperSonics, replacing (James) Jim Graci. [1]
Two years later, Pitman became the arena voice for the Seattle Storm of the WNBA. He continued to work in both roles until the Sonics' relocation in 2008.
After a decade in Seattle, Pitman joined the Golden State Warriors in 2019, taking over the public address announcer role at their new home, the Chase Center in San Francisco. [2]
