Powell was educated at Christ College Brecon and played for the first XV, coached by Jon Williams, between 1994 and 1996. Powell was part of Orchard House and later studied at Brunel University.
He left Saracens to join Harlequins in June 2000 and played in the Tetley's Bitter Cup final of 2001 against Newcastle Falcons. He played every game on the way to the final.
Powell joined Worcester Warriors in 2003, and in 2007 penned a new three-year deal to commit himself to the club until 2010.
He was involved in the Wales set-up for the last two games of the Six Nations in 2006. His consistent displays were later rewarded with a late call-up to play for the Barbarians in their annual match as a replacement for the former All Black, Justin Marshall. He has also made over 100 appearances in the English elite.
He announced his retirement after the 08–09 season and took up a position in the backroom staff.
Powell is currently Business Development Director at Bath RFC.

Andrew James Goode is a sports pundit and retired rugby union player. Goode had an 18-year professional career playing over 400 games and scoring over 4,000 points. He played professionally in England, France and South Africa featuring for Leicester Tigers, Saracens, Worcester Warriors, Wasps and Newcastle Falcons in England's Premiership Rugby, CA Brive in France's Top 14 and for Super Rugby's Sharks in South Africa. Goode represented England 17 times between 2005 and 2009 scoring 107 points.
Pat Sanderson is a former England international rugby union player and a former flanker for Worcester. He is the brother of the former England player Alex Sanderson. His early rugby union career blossomed at Bury Grammar School, Littleborough RUFC and then at Kirkham Grammar School and included his first international cap for the England 16 Group Schools team. He joined Manchester Sale in 1996 and was capped by England U21s and England A. He moved to Harlequins where he played in the 2001 Powergen Cup final, when Quins lost to Newcastle by 30–27.
Christopher John Ashton is an English rugby union and former rugby league player, and one of the few players who have represented England in both rugby codes. A wing or fullback, he joined Leicester Tigers of the Gallagher Premiership in February 2022.

Gavin Quinnell is a former Welsh rugby union player. His career was ended as a result of an eye gouge in a Welsh premiership game. He played for several teams in England, Wales and Italy but finished his career with Magners league side Llanelli Scarlets. He is the son of Derek Quinnell and brother of Scott Quinnell and Craig Quinnell, all former Wales internationals.

Sakiusa Masinivanua (Masi) Matadigo is a rugby union footballer who plays back row for Montpellier Hérault RC. Chris Pennell is an English rugby union player. He currently plays for Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership and also for the Dallas Jackals of Major League Rugby (MLR). He plays as a fullback or wing if needed. He's a former captain of Worcester, and currently resides in Worcester with his young family. Pennell is also an ambassador for type 1 diabetes, which he was diagnosed with at nineteen years old. He has played for England, earning 1 cap in 2014.

Johnston lived in Surbiton whilst playing for Harlequins, before making the move to St Albans upon signing for Saracens in 2013. He started for Harlequins in their 2011–12 Premiership final victory over Leicester Tigers.
