Matthew F. Calamari Sr. is an American business executive serving as the chief operating officer of The Trump Organization. He was previously its director of security and a personal bodyguard of Donald Trump.

Career

Calamari graduated from New York Institute of Technology in 1979. [1] He was a college linebacker. [2] Through his coach, he took a temporary security position during the 1981 US Open. [3] During the semifinals between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, Calamari removed hecklers from the venue, impressing Donald Trump. [2]

Calamari joined The Trump Organization initially as a security guard. [4] In the early 1990s, he was promoted to security director of Trump Tower. [2] He later became the director of security and served as Trump's personal bodyguard. [4] He appeared on three episodes of The Apprentice. [5] Calamari was promoted to chief operating officer. [4] He oversees building management, construction, and insurance. [6] He briefly worked on the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign. [7] In 2021, Calamari was investigated by the New York County District Attorney regarding if he had paid taxes on company benefits including a funded apartment and car. [8] He was not charged. [9]

Personal life

Calamari's son, Matthew Calamari Jr. joined the Trump Organization in 2011 and was promoted to director of security in 2016. [5] He has owned an apartment in Trump Parc since 2020. [5] As of 2021, Calamari is a registered Republican and resides in Glen Head, New York. [5]

Allen Howard Weisselberg is an American businessman who was convicted of tax evasion in connection with his role as former chief financial officer (CFO) of the Trump Organization. Weisselberg served as a co-trustee of a trust set up in 2017 by Donald Trump before Trump's inauguration as president of the United States. In 2022, Weisselberg pleaded guilty to 15 criminal charges including grand larceny, criminal tax fraud and falsifying business records. In January 2023, he began serving a five-month jail sentence and was released the following April. A ruling which was handed down in February 2024 also resulted in Weisselberg being permanently banned from serving in financial control function of any New York corporation or business, and also banned him from serving as a director or officer for any New York corporation or business for three years. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to perjury and was sentenced to another five months in prison.

Keith Schiller is an American former law enforcement official and security consultant who served as Deputy Assistant to U.S. President Donald Trump and Director of Oval Office Operations. Prior to his appointment in the Trump administration, Schiller served as the director of security for The Trump Organization. In that capacity, he was the personal bodyguard to Trump. He has been described as "one of Trump's most loyal and trusted aides" and "a constant presence at Trump's side for nearly two decades."

Since Donald Trump was a 2016 candidate for the office of President of the United States, myriad suspicious links between Trump associates and Russian officials have been discovered by the FBI, Special counsel, and several United States congressional committees, as part of their investigations into the Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. Following intelligence reports about the Russian interference, Trump and some of his campaign members, business partners, administration nominees, and family members were subjected to intense scrutiny to determine whether they had improper dealings during their contacts with Russian officials. People v. Trump Corporation is a state criminal case in New York. In July 2021, an indictment was issued against three defendants: the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corporation, both constituent entities of the Trump Organization; and Allen Weisselberg, Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization. All defendants were charged with scheme to defraud, conspiracy, tax fraud, and falsifying business records, and Weisselberg was additionally charged with grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.

Matthew Evan Corcoran is an American former federal prosecutor who became a white-collar crime defense attorney, and who gained prominence due to his role in the FBI investigation into Donald Trump's handling of government documents as Donald Trump's attorney.
