Matthew Huang (born March 26, 1984) is a Canadian competitive swimmer. [1]
At age 15, Huang qualified for the Canada national swimming team. In 2000, he qualified as a member of the Canadian Olympic swimming team to compete in Sydney, Australia. Huang would go on to represent Canada at many international swimming competitions but only re-emerged in 2005 as a national team member to attend the World Aquatics Championships in Montreal and the World Student Games in İzmir, Turkey.
Melissa Franklin Johnson is an American former competitive swimmer and five-time Olympic medalist. She held the world record in the 200-meter backstroke. As a member of the U.S. national swim team, she also held the world records in the 4×100-meter medley relay.
Canada, which is represented by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), has competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. The Canadian team was made up of 492 athletes, the most ever for a non-home Games. On the team all ten provinces and the Northwest Territories are represented. Some sports such as wrestling have sent their strongest team, however sports which offer the most medals have sent for the most part a developmental team. Table Tennis player Anqi Luo was Canada's youngest athlete at the Games while Equestrian athlete Ian Millar was Canada's eldest athlete competing in Guadalajara. Canada has competed in 35 out of the 36 sports on the program. On October 4, 2011, women's football star Christine Sinclair was selected to carry the flag during the opening ceremony. The chef de mission was Jacques Cardyn and the assistant chef de mission was Curt Harnett.
Matthew McLean is an American competition swimmer who has been a member of several winning U.S. teams in freestyle relay events. He was a member of the 2012 United States Olympic team, and earned a gold medal as a member of the winning U.S. team in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Markus Thormeyer is a Canadian competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and backstroke. Originally from Delta, Thormeyer moved in 2015 to Vancouver, British Columbia after graduating high school to train with the High Performance Centre-Vancouver. While he swims he is also pursuing an undergraduate degree in environmental science at the University of British Columbia.

He is the first Black Canadian swimmer to win an individual medal at a major international championship, as well as the first to win a gold medal, and represented Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
