The Tour Down Under is a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia. It is traditionally the opening event of the UCI World Tour and UCI Women’s WorldTour.
Stuart O'Grady is a retired Australian professional road bicycle racer, who rode as a professional between 1995 and 2013. A former track cyclist, O'Grady and Graeme Brown won a gold medal in the Men's Madison at the 2004 Summer Olympics. O'Grady also won Paris–Roubaix in 2007. O'Grady competed in the Tour de France from 1997 and contended for the points classification in the Tour de France known as the green jersey, finishing second in the 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2005 races. He wore the yellow jersey of general classification leader in 1998 and 2001.
Robbie McEwen is an Australian former professional road cyclist. McEwen is a three-time winner of the Tour de France points classification and, at the peak of his career, was considered the world's fastest sprinter.
Paul Sherwen was an English professional racing cyclist and later a broadcaster on cycling, notably the Tour de France. He raced in seven editions of the Tour, finishing five, and gained a reputation for his ability to suffer over long mountain stages.

In 2003, he was voted the FA Premier League Commentator of the Decade.
Simon Gerrans is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2005 and 2018, for the AG2R Prévoyance, Crédit Agricole, Cervélo TestTeam, Team Sky, Orica–Scott and BMC Racing Team squads. Post-retirement he initially worked as an athlete intern at Goldman Sachs in London, then joined The Service Course, in which he is an investor, as COO and now CEO, in early 2020. He can also be heard commentating road cycling for ASO and SBS.
Michael Tomalaris is an Australian television reporter and presenter. He was previously host of SBS Television sports programs including its Tour de France coverage. He was also formerly a presenter for SBS World News.
Hendricus "Henk" Vogels is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer who retired from competition at the end of the 2008 season, riding with the Toyota–United Pro Cycling Team. He won the Australian national road race title in 1999. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He was subsequently directeur sportif of the Fly V-Successful Living team. Vogels also provides expert opinion for SBS Cycling Central. Vogels served as sports director of the Drapac Professional Cycling team in 2014, however he left the team at the end of the season in order to take a break from the sport in 2015 and spend more time with his family. In 2019 he was announced as the sports director of the Australian ARA Pro Racing cycling team, based in Queensland.
David Basheer is an Australian sports commentator and presenter. He is best known for presenting football (soccer) commentary, in particular on The World Game on television network SBS from 2007 to 2018. Basheer was engaged by the Seven Network to commentate the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Kimberley Wells is an Australian racing cyclist, who has represented Australia in the United States, Middle East and Europe. Outside of professional cycling, Wells is a medical doctor working at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), as a medical specialist sports physician with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians. She obtained her medical degree after six years in far North Queensland through the rural, remote, indigenous and tropical health focus at James Cook University.
