Matthias Hofbauer (born 22 May 1981) is a Swiss professional floorball forward currently playing for the SV Wiler-Ersigen of the Nationalliga A (NLA).
His younger brother Christoph is floorball player.
Hofbauer has represented his country 45 times. He played his first game for the national team in 2000. At the 2004 World Championships, where Switzerland loss in the bronze medal game, Hofbauer was named best forward and a member of the all-star team; he was the tournament's leading scorer.

Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with 96–115.5 cm-long (37.8–45.5 in) sticks and a 70–72 mm-diameter (2.76–2.83 in) plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. Floorball was included in the World Games for the first time in 2017 in Wrocław, Poland. Sweden were the first World Games gold medal winners.
Floor hockey is a broad term for several indoor floor game codes which involve two teams using a stick and type of ball or disk. Disks are either open or closed but both designs are usually referred to as "pucks". These games are played either on foot or with wheeled skates. Variants typically reflect the style of ice hockey, field hockey, bandy or some other combination of sport. Games are commonly known by various names including cosom hockey, ball hockey, floorball, or simply floor hockey.
The 2006 Men's Floorball Championships were the sixth men's Floorball World Championships. It was held in May 2006 in Sweden, with the host country defeating Finland in sudden victory in the gold medal game. Sweden thus continued its tradition of winning these championships, but for the first time in their history the team failed to win all games. Switzerland became the first team to accomplish a draw versus Sweden in a world championship game, and later won the bronze medal.
The 2004 Men's Floorball Championships were the fifth men's Floorball World Championships. It was held in May 2004 in Switzerland, and won by Sweden.
Power Hockey also known as Powerchair Hockey is a competitive, fast-paced hockey game based on the use of a power wheelchair. The foundation of the sport derives from ice hockey and floor hockey, but with adapted rules to enable people with disabilities, who use a power wheelchair, to play and be active in a competitive team setting. The 2007–08 Men's EuroFloorball Cup Finals took place in Vantaa, Finland, from 9 to 13 January 2008. Allmänna Idrottsklubben Innebandyförening, better known simply as AIK, won the EuroFloorball Cup for the second year in a row after narrowly defeating Warberg IC 2–1 in sudden victory overtime.
The United States Floorball Association (USFbA) is the highest governing body for floorball in the United States of America. The USFbA is a self-governed organization, recognized by both state and federal governments. It is based in Incline Village, NV.
Finland Men's National Floorball Team is the national floorball team of Finland. The national team was founded in 1985 and they played their first official game against Sweden in 1985. Finland has won four World Championships and 1 European Championships (1995). Finland has appeared in every World and European Championships tournament organised by the IFF and is the only team with Sweden to have won such a tournament.
The Aberdeen Oilers are a floorball club based in Aberdeen, Scotland. They were founded in 2007 and currently play in the Scottish Floorball League. They won the Northern League Championship in 2008/09, Scottish Floorball League in 2012/13 and 2014/15.
M-ligan (Motionsligan) is a stand-alone floorball league in the city of Malmö, in the south of Sweden. It is primarily a league with non-licensed floorball players, but every game one licensed player on each team is allowed to participate. These rules don’t apply to goaltenders, which makes it legal for each team to use two licensed players every game.
The 2011 Women's World Floorball Championships were the eighth world championships in women's floorball. The tournament was held from 4 December to 11 December 2011 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The matches took place in Athletik Zentrum and Kreuzbleichhalle.
The 2014 Men's World Floorball Championships were the 10th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Gothenburg, Sweden in December 2014. Home team Sweden defended their title in a close game against Finland. Czech Republic earned the bronze after defeating Switzerland by 4–3.
FC Helsingborg, commonly FCH, is a Swedish professional floorball team from Helsingborg. The current club was formed in 2003 by a merging between the floorball section of Högaborgs BK and Ramlösa IBK. In the spring of 2003 the club separated with Högaborg and formed the standalone club FC Helsingborg. The team acquired Högaborgs place in the Elitserien
The 1997 Women's World Floorball Championships were the first world championship in women's floorball, following the first world championship for men the previous year. The matches of the championship were played in Mariehamn and Godby, Finland 3–10 May 1997. Sweden won the tournament and became the first world champions in the history of women's floorball.
The 1999 Women's World Floorball Championships was the second world championship in women's floorball. The games were played in Borlänge, Sweden 9–15 May 1999. Finland won the tournament defeating Switzerland, 5-1, in the final-game and it was their first title. This also was the first time that the world championships were divided into two separate divisions, although all games were played at the same dates in Borlänge. Sweden won the bronze medals defeating Norway, 5-1, in the bronze medal game.
The 2001 Women's World Floorball Championships was the third world championship in women's floorball. The games were played in Riga, Latvia 20–27 May 2001. Finland ended up as champions, thus they became the first team to win their second title. In the final-game Finland defeated Sweden, 2-0.
The 2003 Women's World Floorball Championships was the fourth world championship in women's floorball. The games were played in Bern, Gümligen and Wünnewil in Switzerland 17–24 May 2003. Sweden won the tournament, their second title defeating Switzerland, 8-1, in the final-game.
The North American Floorball League (NAFL) is a semi professional floorball league in North America, consisting of five teams across the United States. The league was founded in June 2020, and is set to begin play in the summer of 2022. The NAFL is the first elite level floorball league in North America, taking place in what is typically the offseason of most upper tier floorball leagues worldwide so as to draw the best possible talent without conflicting with club schedules.
Kim Nilsson is a Swedish floorball player. He currently plays for FBC Kalmarsund, a club in the Swedish Super League. He has also played for Grasshopper Club Zürich in NLA and AIK in SSL. He is a part of Sweden's national floorball team, and is the top goal scorer all time for Sweden.
