The 1985 Tour de France was the 72nd edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It took place between 28 June and 21 July. The course ran over 4,109 km (2,553 mi) and consisted of a prologue and 22 stages. The race was won by Bernard Hinault, who equalled the record by Jacques Anquetil and Eddy Merckx of five overall victories. Second was Hinault's teammate Greg LeMond, ahead of Stephen Roche.

In June 2016 it was announced that Drapac would become co-sponsor of the UCI WorldTeam Cannondale for the remainder of the year, before a merger with Drapac Professional Cycling for 2017. BEAT Cycling is a UCI Continental team founded in 2017 that is based in the Netherlands. The team, which competes in both road and track cycling, gained UCI Continental status the following year. The team's founding riders were Matthijs Büchli, Theo Bos and Roy van den Berg. The coach is Tim Veldt.
