Malmö Fotbollförening, commonly known as Malmö FF, Malmö, or MFF, is a professional football club and the most successful football club in Sweden in terms of domestic trophies won. Formed in 1910 and affiliated with the Scania Football Association, Malmö FF is based at Eleda Stadion in Malmö, Scania. The club has won a record 22 Swedish championship titles and the most national cup titles with 15.
Nils Mattias Joacim Asper is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Starting off his career with Mjällby AIF in the mid-1990s, he went on to play professionally in Spain, Turkey, and Norway before returning to Mjällby in 2008. A full international between 1999 and 2002, he won three caps for the Sweden national football team and was a squad member for them at UEFA Euro 2000.

A full international between 2009 and 2014, he won four caps for the Sweden national team.

The season began on 2 April 2011 and ended on 23 October 2011. Malmö FF were the defending champions, having won their 16th Swedish championship and their 19th Allsvenskan title the previous season.
Dag Christer Olaf Szepanski is a Swedish former footballer who played as a midfielder and striker. He was the 1967 Allsvenskan top scorer with Malmö FF and helped the club win both the 1967 Allsvenskan and 1967 Svenska Cupen titles. He made his only international appearance for the Sweden national team in 1972, scoring one goal in a 1974 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Malta.
The 2012 season was Malmö FF's 101st in existence, their 77th season in Allsvenskan and their 12th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Allsvenskan where they finished in 3rd position. Malmö FF also participated in one competition in which the club continued playing in for the 2013 season, 2012–13 Svenska Cupen. The season was Rikard Norlings first full season as the club's manager as he joined the club halfway through the 2011 season. Ulrich Vinzents was appointed new club captain as the former captain, Daniel Andersson, announced that he would prioritise his coaching career as one of Malmö FF's three assistant managers. However, injury problems for the club's defender saw Andersson playing ten out of twelve league matches before the break for UEFA Euro 2012 and thus also holding the captaincy, Andersson continued to play sporadically after the summer break. Appointed captain Vinzents was injured in an early stage of the season and Miiko Albornoz was brought into the starting eleven, Albornoz held the position until the end of the season. Due to these circumstances third captain Jiloan Hamad held the captaincy for the majority of the matches throughout the season.
Malmö FF were seriously involved in the 1997 chase for the Allsvenskan title, but fell short due to dropped points against bottom teams Degerfors and Öster in the 24th and 25th rounds out of 26. Having been unbeaten at home all season, playing decent possession football, the economic woes of the club forced them to sell Daniel Andersson and Yksel Osmanovski to Bari of Serie A the coming summer.
