Maya Georgieva (born 10 October 1962) is a former Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She's a World and European medalist.

Biography

Georgieva was born in Kyustendil, where she began training at the local school of rhythmic gymnastics. [1]

In 1977 she won silver in the group competition at the World Championships. The following year she became the first European champion in groups. [2] And in 1979 she won group bronze at the World Championships. [3] [4]

For her achievements she was awarded the title of Honoured Master of Sports in Bulgaria.

She is the European all-around champion and team champion with the Bulgarian team in 2023, as well as a silver medalist in the 5-hoop final. She is European champion with the Bulgarian team event of the 2022 European Championships in Tel Aviv.

Vaya Draganova is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is a 2022 European Champion in teams.

Sofia Ivanova is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is a world champion with the Bulgarian team in World Championships 2022 in Sofia and world champion with 3 ribbons+2 balls. She is the European all-around champion and team champion with the Bulgarian team in 2023, as well as a silver medalist in the 5-hoop final. She won gold in the senior team competition at the 2022 European Championships.

Kamelia Petrova is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is world champion in All-around with the Bulgarian team at the world championship 2022 in Sofia and world champion in final with 3 ribbons+2balls. She is the European all-around champion and team champion with the Bulgarian team in 2023, as well as a silver medalist in the 5-hoop final. She was All-Around, 5 balls and 5 ribbons' silver medalist at the 2021 European Championship and she's the champion in the senior team competition at the 2022 European Championships.

Margarita Vasilieva is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is world champion with the Bulgarian team in All-around at the world championship 2022 in Sofia and world champion in final with 3 ribbons+2balls. She won gold in the senior team competition at the 2022 European Championships.

Zhenina Trashileva is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is world champion in All-Around with the Bulgarian team and world champion in the final with 3 ribbons+2 balls in 2022 World Championships. She is European Champion with Team Bulgaria at the 2023 European Championships and Team Champion as well as Silver Medalist in the Five Hoops Final. Zhenina is also a team champion with the Bulgarian team at the European Championship in 2022 in Tel Aviv.

Krassimira Filipova is a former Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She was a leading athlete in the second half of the 1960s and early 1970s.
