The Mazkeret Batya Silverbacks are an amateur American football team based in Mazkeret Batya, Israel. The Silverbacks compete in the Israel Football League (IFL).
The Silverbacks first played during the 2012–2013 season as the Rehovot Silverbacks. [2] They did not win a single game during their first two seasons and in 2014 they moved to Mazkeret Batya, which is located just five kilometers southeast of Rehovot. They achieved their first ever win in December 2014, when they defeated the Jerusalem Kings. [3]
The Silverbacks reached the playoffs for the first time in 2018 despite only finishing 2-8. [4]

Mazkeret Batya is a local council in central Israel located southeast of Rehovot and 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Tel Aviv. Mazkeret Batya spans an area of 7,440 dunams (7 km²). In 2019 it had a population of 14,837. The mayor of Mazkeret Batya is Gaby Gaon.
Eight-man football is a form of gridiron football, generally played by high schools with smaller enrollments. Eight-man football differs from the traditional 11-man game with the reduction of three players on each side of the ball and a field width that can be reduced to 40 yards, 13 1/3 yards narrower than the 53 1/3-yard 11-man field. The central section, completed in June 2014, continues to the entrance of Kvutzat Shiller. The eastern section begins just short of Highway 40 south of Rehovot and terminates at Highway 3 towards Jerusalem, bypassing the towns of Kiryat Ekron and Mazkeret Batya.
