McGuffey High School is one of four schools that make up the McGuffey School District in rural Claysville, Pennsylvania, located approximately 30 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. The school's official colors are navy blue and gold and "Highlanders" has been adopted as the official school nickname. [1] The McGuffey High School building is jointly used by McGuffey Middle School. The school and the district are named for William Holmes McGuffey, author of the McGuffey Reader , who was born within the district boundaries. [1]

The William H. McGuffey House is a historic house museum at 401 East Spring Street, on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, United States. Built in 1833, it was the home of author and professor William Holmes McGuffey (1800–1873) from then until 1836. It is believed to be the site where he wrote the first four of the McGuffey Readers, widely popular instructional texts used to educate generations of Americans. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. It is now operated by Miami University as the William Holmes McGuffey Museum.

State Route 195 (SR 195) is a 3.6-mile-long (5.8 km) north–south state highway in the western portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its northern terminus is at its junction with SR 309 about two miles (3.2 km) north of McGuffey. It is entirely located within western Hardin County.

McGuffey Hall is an academic building at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. McGuffey Hall is home to Miami University's College of Education, Health and Society. The hall was named after William Holmes McGuffey, father of the McGuffey Readers textbook series. McGuffey Hall housed the School of Education (known as the "Ohio State Normal College" in its early days of 1902, the "Teachers' College" from 1916–29, at which time the name was changed to "School of Education". It also housed the McGuffey Elementary Laboratory School, which came into existence in 1910, and which was and still used by the University for observation and practice teaching purposes.

William H. McGuffey Primary School, also known as the McGuffy Art Center, is a historical former elementary school located at Charlottesville, Virginia. It was built in 1915–1916, and is a two-story, rectangular, Colonial Revival style brick building. It features single-story Tuscan order porticos that project from each side elevation as well as from the front façade. It is topped by a slate covered, low pitched, hipped roof. It was named for William Holmes McGuffey (1800-1873) the author of the first standard U.S. reader series who was a staunch advocate of public education and a University of Virginia professor of moral philosophy. McGuffey School ceased to be a public school in 1973.
