McKinley College was a degree-granting post-secondary distance education institution, with headquarters in Fort Collins, Colorado. The college was founded in 2005, and was owned and operated by Weston Distance Learning, Inc. [1] The college ceased operation on August 20, 2020.

Accreditation

McKinley College was nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), [2] an accrediting agency which is approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). [3] McKinley College was also an Accredited Member of the Better Business Bureau and had an A+ rating. [4]

Academics

McKinley College offered online associate degree programs in Accounting, Business Management, E-commerce, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Merchandising, Financial Services Management, Human Resource Management, Social Work, Health Information Technology, Medical Specialties and Marketing.

All AAS degree programs were career focused and the school emphasized the relevance of its program content to each specific field.

The university is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Almeda University was an unaccredited for-profit online university registered on the Caribbean island of Nevis. It offered illegitimate degrees including online certificate programs, general "Life Experience Degrees", and doctorates in religion and theology. Almeda was accredited by the Council for Distance Education Accreditation, the Interfaith Education Ministries (IEM), and the Association for Online Academic Excellence (AOAEX), none of which were recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Almeda University is widely regarded as a diploma mill. It was owned and operated by Pakistani software company Axact.

Colorado Technical University

Colorado Technical University (CTU) is a private for-profit university with its main campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The university is owned by Perdoceo Education Corporation. Founded in 1965, CTU offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, primarily in business, management, and technology. About 92% of Colorado Tech's students are fully online. According to Colorado Tech, the university has conferred more than 118,000 degrees worldwide.Colorado Tech has no public or official affiliation with the State of Colorado.

Westwood College

Westwood College was a private for-profit college owned by Alta Colleges Inc. with 15 campus locations in five states and online learning options. Westwood was nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Since its inception in 1986, Westwood graduated more than 37,000 students. The college closed in March 2016.

University of Arkansas Grantham University in Little Rock, Arkansas

University of Arkansas Grantham is an online Public University within the University of Arkansas System. It was founded in 1951 as Grantham Radio Licensing School and later became Grantham University. Currently, it is composed of four colleges: the College of Business, Management, and Economics, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, and the College of Nursing and Health Professions. In November 2021, Grantham joined the University of Arkansas System and officially became University of Arkansas Grantham. In early 2022, plans began to transition the University of Arkansas System's currently existing online campus named eVersity, into University of Arkansas Grantham. Ultimately, establishing a more streamlined educational institution, to better serve its online student community.

Aspen University

Aspen University is a United States-based private, for-profit, nationally accredited online university that was established in 1987. Aspen University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing, education, computer science, technology, information systems, business, project management, counseling, and criminal justice. Aspen Group, Inc. is a publicly held, for-profit post-secondary education company headquartered in New York, NY. and owns two accredited universities, Aspen University and United States University.

California Southern University

California Southern University is a private, for-profit, university in Costa Mesa, California. It offers associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs online in psychology, business and management, risk management and regulatory compliance, criminal justice, nursing, and education.

University of Management and Technology (Virginia) Private university in the United States

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is a private for-profit university in Arlington, Virginia. The university was founded in 1998 and offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees, including associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees as well as certificate programs. UMT's degree programs in project management are also accredited by the Global Accreditation Center (GAC) of the Project Management Institute (PMI). UMT is an institutional member of the Council of Higher Education Accreditation – CHEA and a Global Registered Education Provider of PMI. Missouri College was a for-profit college in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1963, the school was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. Missouri College offered bachelor's degrees in Healthcare Management and specialized associate degrees in Business Administration, Dental Hygiene, Allied Health, and Occupational Therapy Assisting. Massage Therapy was one of the several diploma programs offered in the college catalog.

Allied American University (AAU) was a for-profit university located in Laguna Hills, California, that offers online learning degree and certificate programs. Allied American University was founded in 2008 and received national accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) in that same year. The university offered bachelor's and associate degree programs in business administration, criminal justice, general studies, and allied health. Allied American University offers seven undergraduate degree programs and 10 certificate programs for career or skill enhancement.

Penn Foster Career School is a U.S. for-profit, regionally and nationally-accredited distance education school offering career diploma programs and certificate programs. It was founded in 1890 as International Correspondence Schools, or ICS. Penn Foster is headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Apollos University American university

Apollos University, headquartered in Great Falls, Montana, is an accredited, American, privately-owned distance education university. The university offers Doctoral, Master's, Bachelor's and Associate's degree programs in Business Administration, Management and Information Technology. Apollos University is an academic institution of higher learning and is accredited by the Distance Education Accreditation Commission (DEAC) in the United States. Apollos University is also a member of SARA and approved to teach students in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

Front Range Community College Community college in Colorado, U.S.

Front Range Community College (FRCC) is a public community college with multiple campuses in Colorado. It has campuses in Westminster, Longmont, and Fort Collins, as well as centers in Brighton and Loveland. It is the largest community college in Colorado and the most popular transfer institution for the University of Colorado-Boulder, Colorado State University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and CSU Global. FRCC traces its heritage to the founding of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education in 1967, which in 1968 established the North Campus of the Community College of Denver as its first new creation. In 1983 the North Campus was renamed as Front Range Community College and became an independent institution in 1985. In 1988, the Larimer County Voc-Tech Center was incorporated as the Larimer Campus of FRCC. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

StraighterLine

StraighterLine is a U.S. educational company that offers low-price, online higher education courses that are equivalent to general courses required for a bachelor's degree. The American Council On Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service has evaluated and recommended college credit for StraighterLine courses. The company is itself unaccredited, but has over 130 partnerships with accredited colleges and universities that accept its courses for credit.
