Golam Mostofa was a Bangladeshi freedom fighter. He was awarded Bir Bikrom and Bir Protik for his contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh. [1]
Golam Mostofa's father's name was Golam Md. Falu Sheikh and his mother's name was Amena Asia Aktar. He was in army in 1971. [2] After the declaration of independence of Bangladesh he decided to take part in the Bangladesh Liberation War. At first he fought in Sector 3. Later he joined S Force. [2]
On 14 August 1971 Pakistanis congregated more soldiers in Madhabpur of Greater Sylhet. Golam Mostofa and other freedom fighters decided to ambush them. They weren't able to do that because two companions of Pakistanis informed them. [2] After knowing their movements Pakistanis surrounded them. Mostofa and other freedom fighters decided to defend as it was not easy to attack Pakistanis at that time. They were able to foil the plan of Pakistanis after some hours. [2]
On 6 December 1971 Golam Mostofa was injured in a Battle in Chandua, Brahmanbaria. He had to cut one of his legs after this injury. [2] After independence he was awarded Bir Bikrom and Bir Protik from Bangladesh Government for his contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh
Golam Mostofa was married to Shamima Aktar. They had four sons. [2]
Golam Mostofa died on 10 October 2019 at the age of 70. [3] [4]
The Bir Sreshtho, is the highest military award of Bangladesh. It was awarded to seven freedom fighters who showed utmost bravery and died in action for their nation. They are considered martyrs.
Bir Bikrom is the third highest gallantry award in Bangladesh. Like the other gallantry awards, this was introduced immediately after the Bangladeshi Liberation War. Bir Bikrom was awarded to 175 fighters.

Shafaat Jamil, Bir Bikrom was a Bangladesh Army colonel. He was among the first Bengali officers who rebelled against the Pakistani Army in the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh and later fought in 11 sector and in Sylhet sector.

Noorjahan Kakon BibiBir Protik was a Bangladeshi freedom fighter and secret agent of the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. She was arrested and brutally tortured by the Pakistan army. She is one of two female freedom fighters honored with the Bir Protik award in 1996, the fourth highest honor in Bangladesh, due to her gallant contribution in the liberation war.

He was conferred with the Independence Award, Bangladesh's highest civilian in 2013 and India's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri on November 9, 2021.
Martyr Lilu Mia was a freedom fighter of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. Bangladesh government awarded him the title of Bir Bikrom for his bravery in the independence war.
Dewan Mahbubur Rob Sadi Chaudhuri was a Bengali politician. He was a 1971 Liberation War veteran and war hero who led the Jalalpur sub-sector as sub-sector commander of the Mukti Bahini under Sector Commander Maj Gen C. R. Datta. Sadi was awarded Bir Protik on 15 December 1973 for demonstration of personal acts of valor during the war. He was elected a member of parliament in 1979. Besides being a freedom fighter and politician, Sadi was also a singer, poet, columnist and songwriter. He was an active columnist for the Manab Zamin and his articles and letters appeared in various national and international newspapers and magazines like The Economist, The Daily Star, The Daily Ittefaq and Prothom Alo. Sadi served as the executive director of Delta Life Insurance Company Ltd, and later founded a socio-political organization named Centre for Democratic Practice, dedicated towards fostering democracy and national consciousness and consensus in Bangladesh.
Noor Ahmed Ghazi (Born: Unknown - Died: 1971) was a freedom fighter of Bangladesh Liberation War. He was awarded the title of Bir Bikram by the Government of Bangladesh for his bravery in the War of Independence.
