Md. Golam Mustafa is a Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal politician and a former member of parliament for Jessore-1.
Mustafa was elected to parliament from Jessore-1 as a Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal candidate in 1979. [1] In 1991,he contested the election from Jhenaidah-1. [2]

The Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Bengali:জাতীয়সমাজতান্ত্রিকদল,'National Socialist Party') is a political party in Bangladesh. It was formed in 2002,through a split from the original Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal. The party is sometimes referred to as JSD (Rab) (after prominent party leader ASM Abdur Rab),to differentiate it from the mother party led by Hasanul Haq Inu. The Election Commission of Bangladesh calls the party Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD and the Inu-led party Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasad.
1972–1975 Bangladesh insurgency refers to the period after the independence of Bangladesh when left-wing insurgents,particularly the Gonobahini fought against the government of the Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The government responded by forming the Jatiya Rakkhi Bahini,which began a crackdown on the general populace. The force became involved in the numerous charges of human rights abuse including political killings,shooting by death squads,and large number of rapes on women. The insurgency was one of the main reasons for the fall of Sheikh Mujib.
