The 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal is a commemorative medal struck by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada and was awarded to Canadians who were deemed to have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens, to their community, or to Canada. Nominations were submitted to lieutenant governors and territorial commissioners, senators, members of parliament, provincial governments, the Public Service Commission of Canada, the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and various federal government departments, as well as organizations throughout the country, and some 42,000 medals were awarded.

The Goethe Medal, also known as the Goethe-Medaille, is a yearly prize given by the Goethe-Institut honoring non-Germans "who have performed outstanding service for the German language and for international cultural relations". It is an official decoration of the Federal Republic of Germany. The prize used to be given on 22 March, the anniversary of Goethe's death. Since 2009, it has been given on 28 August, the anniversary of Goethe's birth. The first awards were made in 1955. In the intervening years, through 2018, a total of 348 women and men from 65 countries have been so honored. It is not to be confused with Goethe-Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft (1932–1944) and Goetheplakette der Stadt Frankfurt am Main.

Major general Yordan Sergiev Milanov was a major general of the Bulgarian Air Force. He was a recognized author, Bulgarian Aviation and Aerospace Doctor of Science, and a Bulgarian Air Force pilot. With over 60 publications regarding Air- and Space- Force history, tactics, and geopolitical issues, Maj. Gen. Milanov was one of Bulgaria's most prolific 20th century military aviation leaders. Maj. Gen. Milanov died of natural causes in the early morning hours of June 27, 2020, in his home in Sofia, Bulgaria.
