History
Media Masons was founded by H. K. Ravoofa in 2005. She began her career as a freelance scriptwriter and director, working on early seasons of Super Singer and other flagship shows on Star Vijay. In 2014, Prathima Cuppala—who had served as Associate Vice President (AVP) at Vijay TV—joined the company as co-founder.
The company initially partnered with Vijay TV for non-fiction programming, contributing to content and creative services. From 2016 onward, it transitioned into a full-fledged production house, commissioned to produce major reality formats including Kitchen Super Star , Super Singer , Cooku with Comali , Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai until 2023. From 2024, it expanded its production to Sun TV, marking a new phase in its growth.

Super Singer
One of Media Masons' flagship properties is the Super Singer franchise—A music reality show widely credited with transforming the landscape of Tamil-language reality TV.
Season 1 of Super Singer and Super Singer Junior were directed by Prathima Cuppala while she was at Vijay TV. Starting from Season 2, Prathima transitioned to the role of Executive Producer, while H. K. Ravoofa took over as Director.
Between the two of them, Super Singer Seasons 1–9 and Super Singer Junior Seasons 1–8 have been handled collaboratively in various creative and production capacities, both while employed at Vijay TV and later under the Media Masons banner after the show was fully outsourced to the company.
The franchise has consistently drawn high viewership and is known for discovering and nurturing music talent across Tamil Nadu.
Cooku with Comali
Another popular format developed by Media Masons is Cooku With Comali , a cookery-based reality show that mixes culinary competition with improvisational comedy. By pairing celebrity participants with comedians ("Comalis"), the show added humor to traditional cooking formats. Its light-hearted tone, spontaneity, and cultural relevance helped it become a breakout success and viral favorite among Tamil audiences.
