Mehdi Radouane Guerrouad (born 29 September 1981 in France) is a French retired footballer. [1]

Career

After failing to make an appearance for French Ligue 1 side Lille OSC, Guerrouad signed for R.A.A. Louviéroise in the Belgian second division, where he had difficulty adapting due to the long season with Lille OSC. [2] [3]

For the second half of 2003/04, he signed for Danish top-flight club Viborg FF, where he only made 4 appearances over 2 seasons due to injury, before playing for Étoile Fréjus Saint-Raphaël, Feignies Aulnoye, as well as R.F.C. Tournai in the French and Belgian lower leagues.

While playing for R.A.A. Louviéroise, Guerrouad was called up to the Algeria national under-23 team. [4] Despite aiming to represent Algeria internationally, [5] he never made an appearance for them.

R.A.A. Louviéroise, sometimes referred to as La Louvière or RAAL, was a Belgian football club located in the city of La Louvière, in the province of Hainaut. The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. The Belgian Third Division A was one of the two leagues at the third level of the Belgian football league system, the other one being the Belgian Third Division B. This division existed from the 1952–53 to 2015–16 seasons and was played every year with 18 clubs from 2009. Prior to this, the third level in the Belgian football league system was called Promotion and was divided into four leagues of 16 clubs each and prior to the 1931–32 season, the Promotion was divided into three leagues. Due to restructuring, the Third Division was replaced by Belgian Second Amateur Division which plays as three leagues of 16 clubs each from the 2016–17 season.

The 2005–06 season of the Belgian Jupiler League began on August 5, 2005 and ended on May 5, 2006. Anderlecht won the title on the last day of competition.
