Melissa "Mel" Bampton is an Australian radio announcer, best known for her work on the Triple J network. She began at the station in 2000 as producer of the Drive show - with Costa Zouliou, Myf Warhurst, Nicole Fossati and Charlie Pickering at various times. In mid-2002, Fossati left the station, and Bampton took her place as co-host.
In 2004 the station's programming underwent major changes, and Bampton started hosting her own music show Mel in the Mornings. The show replaced the previous Morning Show, which was heavily current affairs and talkback, with a more music oriented show, including interviews and live performances. Mel was the creator of the Like a Version segment of bands playing cover songs, which has spawned nine CDs [1] and continues on the triple j breakfast program to this day.
On 26 January 2007, Mel finished her role as a triple j presenter. In late 2007 Mel presented and produced the 2nd Producer Series for triple j, which featured: Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom), Michael Beinhorn (Hole, Marlilyn Manson, The Bronx), Trina Shoemaker (Queens Of The Stoneage, Something For Kate), Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian), Tony Cohen (Nick Cave, Beasts of Bourbon), Squeak E Clean (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ben Lee), Ewan Pearson (The Rapture), Dave Catching (Rancho De La Luna - The Desert Sessions) Tim Whitten (Architecture In Helsinki, The Panics) and John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, The Living End).
In 2008, Bampton produced and presented The Album Series for triple j which took a look at four outstanding Australian Albums, by artists: Sarah Blasko, The Living End, Hoodoo Gurus and Regurgitator. The Album Series featured on triple j in late 2008.
Bampton produced and presented the third season of The Producer Series, which aired on Triple J in 2009. The third series featured Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Wolfmother), Scott Horscroft (The Panics, Sleepy Jackson), Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Sleater Kinney), Harry Vanda (AC/DC, British India, The Angels), Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, Cut Copy) and Diplo (MIA, Santigold, Major Lazer). A print version of The Producer Series is set for release through Harper Collins in 2015.
Bampton was the Music & Books Editor for 'alternative mainstream' women's magazine yen between 2008 and 2012, and is also the Director of a Byron Bay-based media company that works with Soundwave Festival, and musical artists Ash Grunwald and Dune Rats.
Bampton is married, and has three children - Jazzy, Tiger and Obi - the youngest being born in 2012.
Bampton is also a full-time Yoga Therapist and teacher, studying and instructing under her married name 'Lissie Turner' at The Yoga Shack. She was trained by Dr Natesan Chanderasekaran MD and Lance Schuler. Bampton has been practicing yoga since 1995.
Triple J is a government-funded, national Australian radio station that began broadcasting in 1975. It intends to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays more Australian content than commercial networks. The station is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
The Herd is an Australian hip hop group formed in Sydney. The group employs a "full band" format and is recognised for its live shows. The Herd is composed of Ozi Batla, Urthboy, Berzerkatron (MCs), Unkle Ho (beats), Traksewt, Sulo, Toe-Fu (guitar), Rok Poshtya (bass) and singer Jane Tyrrell. The band's songs often feature politically oriented lyrics. The group has been largely inactive since 2013, reuniting for select performances.

Architecture in Helsinki was an Australian indie pop band which consisted of Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland. Before its hiatus, the band released five studio albums: Fingers Crossed (2003), In Case We Die (2005), Places Like This (2007), Moment Bends (2011), and Now + 4eva (2014). The band has been inactive since 2018.
End of Fashion are an Australian pop rock band from Perth, Western Australia. The group gained mainstream attention with its 2005 single, "O Yeah", that was voted into eighth position of the "Hottest 100" poll, compiled by Australian youth radio station, Triple J. The group has released three studio albums. In January 2014, the band took a hiatus before reforming for their first show on 22 September 2018 at the Indian Ocean Hotel in Scarborough.

Lisa Helen Mitchell is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter who grew up in Albury, New South Wales. Mitchell currently lives in Melbourne and is working on her fourth studio album. Mitchell finished sixth in the 2006 season of Australian Idol. Her debut extended play, Said One to the Other, topped iTunes in Australia and she signed with London-based publisher, Little Victories, a subsidiary of Sony/ATV. By 2008 Mitchell had relocated to the UK where she recorded her debut studio album, Wonder, which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart. She won the 2009 Australian Music Prize of $30,000 for the album. Mitchell returned to Australia to live in Melbourne. Her second album, Bless This Mess reached No. 7. In March 2015, Mitchell's last single "Wah Ha" was remixed by electronic trio Seekae. Her third album Warriors was released on 16 October 2016 and debuted Top 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Mostly known for her work on Australian radio, she has presented Mornings on Triple J, the National Evening Show on ABC Local Radio, and Breakfast on 702 ABC Sydney. She is also a podcaster, writer, interviewer, MC, facilitator, narrator & voice over artist. She presented with Australian humourist and broadcaster Wendy Harmer a holiday season version of the Breakfast Show on 702 ABC Sydney.
"Sally" is the pilot episode of the American television sitcom Flight of the Conchords. It first aired on HBO on June 17, 2007. In this episode, New Zealanders Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie of the band Flight of the Conchords have moved to New York City to try to make it in the United States. At a party, Jemaine falls for, and subsequently begins dating, Sally—Bret's former girlfriend. As Jemaine's attentions focus on Sally, a lonely Bret is forced to deal with the advances of Mel, the band's obsessed—and only—fan. Boy & Bear are an Australian indie folk band formed in 2009, consisting of David Hosking, Killian Gavin, Tim Hart, Jonathan Hart, and David Symes (bass). The band has released two EPs and five studio albums. The first two albums, Moonfire and Harlequin Dream, reached the top ten of the Australian albums chart. Their third album, Limit of Love, was released on 9 October 2015, in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, and on 30 October in the UK and Europe. On 27 September 2019, after a four-year break, they released their long-awaited fourth studio album, Suck on Light. After yet another break between 2020 and 2022 due to the COVID pandemic, the band finally released their self-titled fifth studio album on 26 May 2023.
Papa vs Pretty was an Australian rock band from Sydney, New South Wales. Originally the solo act of then 15-year-old Thomas Rawle in 2006, Papa vs Pretty became a three-piece band in 2008 with the addition of Rawle's friends Angus Gardiner and Tom Myers, and a quartet in 2012 with the arrival of Luke Liang. On Monday 30 June 2014, the band announced their breakup.
