Melbourne Vicentre is a swimming club based at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Melbourne, Australia. Its head coach is 1992 Olympian Craig Jackson, supported by Kenrick Monk, Brad Harris and others. Prior to his resignation in 2017, Ian Pope was head coach of Vicentre for 16 years. [1] Vicentre is one of the largest clubs in Victoria, and Swimming Australia Podium Performance Centre. [2]
Amongst the swimmers who train currently with Vicentre are Olympians Mack Horton and Kotuku Ngawati, Paralympians Ahmed Kelly, Ashleigh McConnell and Tanya Huebner as well as Masters World Record holder Linley Frame. Past club members include Giaan Rooney, Matt Welsh, Grant Hackett, Michael Klim, Daniel Kowalski, Marieke Guehrer and Nicole Livingstone. [3] Nicole Livingstone was CEO of the club between July 2014 and early 2017. [4] Former Coaches include Gene Jackson, Bill Nelson and Adam Luscombe.
The club was formed in 1988 following the amalgamation of Melbourne Aquatic and ACI Vicentre swimming clubs.
Prior to being based at MSAC, the club operated at the State Swim Centre in Batman Avenue, from 1988 to 1997.
In 1996, the club amalgamated with Malvern Swimming Club Inc. The club is an incorporated association under the Associations Incorporation Act 1986 (Vic) and is an affiliate of Swimming Victoria and Metro South District. [5]
Alexander Baumann, is a Canadian sports administrator and former competitive swimmer who won two gold medals and set two world records at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 2007, he was regarded by the national broadcaster as "the greatest swimmer in Canadian history", as the twin Olympic gold medals were Canada's first in swimming since 1912.

Samantha Linette Pearl Riley is an Australian breaststroke swimmer of Aboriginal descent who competed for Australia in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, winning three medals. She trained under Scott Volkers at the Commercial Swimming Club in Brisbane.
Ronald Brian Jacks was a Canadian Olympic and international swimmer in the 1960s and 1970s. He is currently a leading coach for Canadian swimmers such as Richard Weinberger through the Pacific Coast Swimming Club.
Melbourne Sports Centres - MSAC is an international sporting venue located in Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. The centre was opened on 24 July 1997 at a construction cost of A$65 million. The cost was funded by the State Government of Victoria and the City of Port Phillip. The centre has hosted international events including the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 World Aquatics Championships.
Nicole Lee Haislett is an American former competitive swimmer who was a three-time Olympic gold medalist, a former world and American record-holder, and an eight-time American national college champion. During her international swimming career, Haislett won twenty-two medals in major international championships, including fourteen golds.

Matthew Anthony "Matt" Haanappel, is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. He was born in Wantirna, Victoria and resides in the far eastern suburbs of Melbourne. He has cerebral palsy right hemiplegia. Haanappel has represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships, the 2014 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships, the 2016 Summer Paralympics, and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He represents the Camberwell Grammar School Aquatic club.
