In national competitions, she represents Queensland. As a member of Australia's 2008 team, she won a bronze medal in Beijing. She is a member of the 2012 national team and is attempting to secure a spot to compete at the 2012 ISF XIII Women's World Championships.
Justine Smethurst is an Australian softball player. She is a pitcher and plays club softball in the Glen Waverley Softball Association. She has represented Victoria on a variety of different teams and competed at the national championships several times, winning one in 2001. Wakefield has been a member of the Australia women's national water polo team at the junior starting in 2006 and senior level starting in 2009. She earned a silver medal at the 2010 FINA World League, a gold medal at the 2011 Canada Cup and a bronze medal at the 2011 FINA Junior World Championships. Wakefield won a championship as a member of the 2011 Brisbane Barracudas squad in the National Water Polo League and has been selected for the preliminary Australian water polo team for the 2012 Summer Olympics. As part of the Aussie Stingers, Wakefield represented Australia at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics in women's water polo.
Ashleigh Southern is an Australian water polo player. She is currently a student at Brisbane North Institute of TAFE and is studying criminal justice. In water polo, she is a centre forward or outside shooter who has represented Australia on the junior and senior national teams. Kate Maree Gynther is an Australian water polo player. She plays for the Brisbane Barracudas in the National Water Polo League. She represented Australia as a member of the women's senior national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics, the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal at the 2008 and 2012 Games. She is a leading goalscorer in Olympic water polo history, with 30 goals.
