Melody Oliveria, also known by their handle bowiechick, is an American video blog contributor, most popularly to YouTube. [1] [2] They were listed as a notable contributor to YouTube in 2006. [3]
In 2006, Bowiechick posted a video titled The Breakup, in which they discusses their personal life while experimenting with web cam effects. After receiving many comments about the effects, they produced a video titled My Webcam, explaining how the effects were achieved using a Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP. [4]
The My Webcam video is credited as doubling sales for Logitech at Amazon.com, rousing the interest of other businesses that wished to duplicate this result. [5] Apparently, the viewer reaction was in response to the use of Logitech Video Effects in their video. Despite garnering publicity for the manufacturer, Bowiechick did not participate in a paid promotion. [6]
Scott Raymond Adams is an American author and cartoonist. He is the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, and the author of several nonfiction works of business, commentary, and satire. Adams worked in various clerical roles before he became a full-time cartoonist in 1995. While working at Pacific Bell in 1989, Adams created Dilbert; by the mid-1990s the strip had gained national prominence in America and began to reach a worldwide audience. Dilbert remained popular throughout the following decades, spawning several books written by Adams and becoming a cultural touchstone until it was dropped from syndication. It now runs as a webcomic.
