Mendeed was a Scottish heavy metal band formed in Dumbarton, in 2000 and disbanded in 2007.
The band's members met at school in Dumbarton. In 2002 they self-released their first EP Killing Something Beautiful . In 2003 the band released their second EP As We Rise .
In December 2003 Mendeed signed a recording contract with disgraced UK Label Rising Records. The band's first release on that label was an EP From Shadows Came Darkness in September 2004. Mendeed's music was played on every rock radio station. The band toured, supporting DragonForce, Slipknot, Avenged Svenfold, and Napalm Death.
In December 2004 the video "Ignite the Flames" was added to the playlists of MTV2 shows Headbangers Ball and 120 Minutes , and the catalogue of Scuzz TV.
Mendeed released their first album This War Will Last Forever in 2005 on Rising Records. In 2006 the album was released again by Nuclear Blast, at which point Mendeed were nominated for "Best Newcomer" at both the Kerrang and Metal Hammer Awards. The band also contributed to Kerrang's Remastered: Master of Puppets Revisited album, covering Metallica's song "The Thing That Should Not Be". This earned them a Gold Disc at the Kerrang Awards in 2006.
Mendeed toured with such names as Anthrax, Cradle of Filth, Napalm Death, Fear Factory and played dates with Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Skindred, Bleeding Through and Trivium. They also headlined their own tour in between dates supporting other bands, and performed on the Gibson/MySpace Stage at Download in 2006.
Their second album The Dead Live By Love was released in February 2007 debuting at no.4 in the British Rock charts. The band split up in 2007. After the split, lead guitarist Steve Nixon joined the Welsh Metalcore band Anterior.
Drummer Kevin Matthews has continued playing, joining Glasgow metal band Madman is Absolute, various studio sessions and producing other musicians.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Metallica's Master of Puppets album in August 2006, Kerrang magazine selected Mendeed to contribute to a tribute album. They opted to record "The Thing That Should Not Be". The CD, titled Remastered: Master of Puppets Revisited, was given away free with the magazine. Other artists selected to cover songs on the album were Machine Head, Trivium, Bullet for My Valentine, Chimaira, Fightstar, Mastodon and Funeral for a Friend.
Master of Puppets is the third studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica, released on March 3, 1986, by Elektra Records. Recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark at Sweet Silence Studios with producer Flemming Rasmussen, it was the band's final album to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a bus accident in Sweden during the album's promotional tour.

...And Justice for All is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released on August 25, 1988, by Elektra Records. It was the first Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newsted, following the death of their previous bassist Cliff Burton in 1986. Burton received posthumous co-writing credit on "To Live Is to Die" as Newsted followed bass lines Burton had recorded prior to his death.
Clifford Lee Burton was an American musician who was the bassist for thrash metal band Metallica from 1982 until his death in 1986. He performed on the band's first three albums, Kill 'Em All (1983), Ride the Lightning (1984), and Master of Puppets (1986). Burton also received a posthumous writing credit on ...And Justice for All (1988) for the song "To Live Is to Die".
Stone Sour was an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. The band performed for five years before disbanding in 1997. They reunited in 2000 and since 2015, the group has consisted of Corey Taylor, Josh Rand (guitar), Christian Martucci (guitar), Johny Chow (bass) and Roy Mayorga (drums). Longtime members Joel Ekman and Shawn Economaki left the band in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Former lead guitarist Jim Root left in 2014. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2020.

Enemy of the Music Business is the ninth studio album by the British band Napalm Death, released in 2000. This album, along with Words from the Exit Wound, are the only Napalm Death studio albums that were released only on CD until 2013. London-based Secret Records has re-issued the album on CD and 180g LP. This is the last release that has Jesse Pintado actually performing. Kerrang put it on the list of the best 50 albums of the 2000, at the position number 19.
Matthew Kiichi Heafy is a Japanese-American musician, best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist for heavy metal band Trivium. He was also the lead vocalist for the band Capharnaum, along with Trivium's former producer Jason Suecof. In 2017, Heafy was voted sixth on the Ultimate Guitar list "Top 25 Greatest Modern Frontmen".
The discography of Trivium, an American heavy metal band, consists of ten studio albums, three extended play, two demo albums, 42 singles and 34 music videos. Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1999, the group's first recording lineup included vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, bassist Brent Young and drummer Travis Smith, who together released Ember to Inferno on Lifeforce Records in 2003. After the addition of guitarist Corey Beaulieu and new bassist Paolo Gregoletto in place of Young, the band signed with Roadrunner Records and released Ascendancy in 2005, which reached number 151 on the US Billboard 200. It also reached number 79 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The Crusade followed in 2006, peaking at number 25 on the Billboard 200 and number 7 on the UK Albums Chart. The album's second single "Anthem " reached number 40 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart, while its third single "The Rising" was the band's first to register on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, reaching number 32.
"Orion" is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica from their third studio album, Master of Puppets, released on March 3, 1986, by Elektra Records. There the song features as track seven, and is entirely instrumental. "Orion" was written primarily by bassist Cliff Burton. The song was named after the constellation of the same name, Orion, due to its "spacey sounding" bridge.
Black Tide was an American heavy metal band from Kendall, Florida. Formed in 2004, the band last consisted of Gabriel Garcia, Austin Diaz and Cody Paige (drums). They released their debut album, Light from Above, on March 18, 2008 through Interscope Records when Garcia was 15 years old. Their second album, Post Mortem, was released on August 23, 2011. Black Tide's EP Bite the Bullet was released on November 12, 2013 by InnerCat Music Group, a Miami-based boutique label. On October 16, 2015 band released their last album Chasing Shadows. On July 22, 2016 Garcia announced on his Instagram that the band is over and he is concentrating on his solo project.
The Metallica Collection is a digital box set by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released to the iTunes Store on April 14, 2009. The box set features all of the band's studio albums and extra material from 1983 to 2008. The box set was later released to other digital music stores such Amazon MP3 and UOL Megastore.
Rise to Remain was an English, London-based heavy metal band formed in 2006 and disbanded in 2015. The band made appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and extensively toured the UK and Europe. The band released three EPs, the majority of which were "viral" releases, via their MySpace. On 16 March 2011 they signed their first major recording contract with EMI records, which was accompanied by the launch of their website and a free single download entitled "The Serpent". Their debut album, City of Vultures, was released on 5 September 2011, nearly a year after they had started work on recording the album. It was produced by revered metal producer Colin Richardson and Carl Bown. In 2014, the band released a new single entitled "Over and Over", which would be their last musical release.
