Merapas Island is an Indonesian island in South East Asia. It is part of the Riau Islands, situated between Pulau Kayuara and Pulau Redang, and is also near to Pulau Mapur and the town of Kawal.
It is best known for being an operational base for Operation Rimau during World War II. [1]
The Lingga Regency is a group of islands in Indonesia, located south of Singapore, along both sides of the equator, off the eastern coast of Riau Province on Sumatra island. They are south of the populated Riau Archipelago, known for the industrial island of Batam and the tourist-frequented island of Bintan, although the Lingga Islands themselves are rarely visited due to the infrequent local transportation. The equator goes through the northern tip of Lingga Island, the main island in the archipelago.
Operation Rimau was an attack on Japanese shipping in Singapore Harbour, carried out by an Allied commando unit Z Special Unit, during World War II using Australian built Hoehn military MKIII folboats. It was a follow-up to the successful Operation Jaywick which had taken place in September 1943, and was again led by Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Lyon of the Gordon Highlanders, an infantry regiment of the British Army.

Singkep is an island in the Lingga Archipelago in Indonesia. Its area is 757 square kilometres (292 sq mi). It is separated from the east coast of Sumatra by the Berhala Strait. It is surrounded by islands Posik to the west, I. Serak to the SW, I. Lalang to the South, and I. Selayar of Riau Islands between Lingga and Singkep.

Penyengat Island is an island in Tanjung Pinang, capital of the Riau Islands, Indonesia. It lies just off Bintan Island, close to the downtown of Tanjung Pinang. The island has historical significance, dating back to the 18th century, when it was established as a fort as part of the Sultanate of Johor-Riau by the Bugis people. The island contains the tomb of Raja Ali Haji, a 19th-century Bugis historian and scholar. It is a small island that is approximately 6 km from the downtown of Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands province. This island measures approximately 2500 meters x 750 meters, and is approximately 35 km from the island of Batam. This island can be reached by using a boat or better known by pompong boat. By using pompong boat, it takes approximately 15 minutes drive.
Igneous rocks are found in Bukit Timah, Woodlands, and Pulau Ubin island. Granite makes up the bulk of the igneous rock. Gabbro is also found in the area and is found in an area called Little Guilin, named for its resemblance to Guilin in South China. This area is in Bukit Gombak. Sedimentary rocks are found on the western part of Singapore, which is mainly made of sandstone and mudstones. It also includes the southwestern area. Metamorphic rocks are found in the northeastern part of Singapore, and also on Pulau Tekong, off the east coast of Singapore. The rocks are mainly made up of quartzite, and also make up the Sajahat Formation.
Banyuasin is a regency of South Sumatra Province in Indonesia. The Regency was formed on 10 April 2002 from the coastal and eastern areas formerly part of the Musi Banyuasin Regency. It takes its name from the main river which drains that area, the Banyuasin River. Pangkalan Balai is the regency seat. The regency borders Musi Banyuasin Regency, Jambi province and Bangka Strait to the north, Bangka Strait to the east, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, Muara Enim Regency, and the city of Palembang to the south, and Musi Banyuasin Regency to the west. It has an area of 11,832.99 km2 and had a population of 749,107 at the 2010 census and 836,914 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 839,401. Much of the regency is coastal lowland.

Dayang Island is an island in Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. It is one of a group of islands along with Pulau Aur, Pulau Lang, and Pulau Pemanggil. The name of the neighbouring island, Pulau Aur, means "bamboo island" in Malay. Both islands have been known to Chinese sailors for centuries. A map from the 17th century identified these islands as East and West Bamboo islands.
