Metro Diner is an American casual dining restaurant chain headquartered in Tampa, Florida. It has 63 locations throughout the United States and was featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2010.
Metro Diner has roots back to 1938 when the first diner was opened in Jacksonville, Florida. It was not officially branded as Metro Diner until 1992 and was purchased by brothers Mark and John Davoli (Jr.) in 2000. [1] Their father joined them a few years later and expanded to several locations in the Jacksonville area, including Mandarin, Ortega, and Jacksonville Beach. In 2010, Metro Diner was featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives . [2]
ConSul Hospitality Group, made up of Chris Sullivan and Hugh Connerty, partnered with the Davoli family in 2014 to help expand the chain. At that time, the chain had nine locations. [1] By 2018, Metro Diner opened its 50th restaurant [3] and by 2020 had 58 locations throughout the United States. [4]

[3] It also has a location known as Metro Diner Express for contactless ordering and payment, developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States in 2020. [5]

Cook Out is a privately owned American fast-food restaurant chain operating in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Mississippi. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is an American food reality television series that has aired on the Food Network since April 23, 2007. It is hosted by Guy Fieri, and in recent episodes Hunter Fieri has joined his dad in exploring cuisines and restaurants. The show originally began as a one-off special that aired on November 6, 2006. The show features a "road trip" concept, similar to Road Tasted, Giada's Weekend Getaways, and $40 a Day. Fieri travels around the United States, Canada, and Mexico, looking at various diners, drive-in restaurants, and dive bars. He has also featured restaurants in European cities, including London and Florence, as well as in Cuba and Puerto Rico.
The Original Pancake House (TOPH) is a chain of pancake houses across the United States. They have franchises in Canada that started in 1958 and are still operating. They have recently expanded into both Japan and South Korea. They follow traditional recipes and ingredients for their pancakes but offer other standard diner fare as well. They also have a spin-off, Walker Brothers Pancake House, which has a similar menu, but with a formal ambiance.

Taco Bus restaurants serve Mexican food in the Tampa, Florida area. The restaurants began as a popular food truck on Hillsborough Avenue. A second location followed on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida and a restaurant was added on Franklin Street in downtown Tampa. Taco Bus opened their fourth location near USF on Fletcher Avenue. Rene Valenzuela is chef and owner of the business. A location in Brandon at 311 South Falkenburg is scheduled to open in spring 2013. The USF location was reported to be open 24 hours.
Ocean Prime is a steakhouse and seafood restaurant concept owned by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, consisting of 18 restaurants in 14 states plus Washington, D.C. Mitchell's Ocean Club opened in August 2006, starting the Ocean Prime brand in Columbus, Ohio, and the first Ocean Prime outside of Ohio opened in Troy, Michigan in June 2008. Other locations include Beverly Hills, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Naples, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Tampa and Washington, D.C. Ocean Prime Sarasota will open late 2024 and Ocean Prime Nashville will open in 2025.
Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe is a diner in northern California named after the Clash song, "Rudie Can't Fail". Rudy's is part-owned by Mike Dirnt from Green Day, and was featured on the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Byways Cafe was a diner in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon, United States. Owners, Collin McFadden and Megan Brinkley, opened the restaurant in 1999, serving American breakfast and brunch comfort foods such as corned beef hash, omelets, and pancakes. Guy Fieri visited the diner for a 2007 episode of the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Byways received generally positive receptions and was voted the city's "best brunch spot" by readers of The Oregonian in 2016. It closed in late 2019, after the owners were unable to reach a lease agreement with the landlord.
Arleta Library Bakery & Cafe was a restaurant in the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood of southeast Portland, Oregon, United States. Sarah and Nick Iannarone established Arleta in 2005, and it closed in 2020 because of financial difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Arleta garnered a positive reception, especially as a brunch destination, and Guy Fieri visited the restaurant for an episode of the Food Network series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Pine State Biscuits is a chain of breakfast restaurants based in Portland, Oregon. Established in 2006, there are four locations in Portland plus one in Reno, Nevada, as of 2018. Food & Wine included Pine State Biscuits in a 2017 list of the best biscuits in the United States.
Magnolia Cafe is a restaurant with one active location in Austin, Texas. The restaurant originally opened on Lake Austin Boulevard as Omelettry West in 1979, and became known as Magnolia Cafe during 1986–1987. A second location on South Congress Avenue opened in 1988. The Lake Austin location closed during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, with the remaining South Congress location operating with reduced hours. Both locations formerly operated 24/7.

Yonder was a Southern restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Chef Maya Lovelace opened Yonder in northeast Portland's Cully neighborhood in 2019. The business was named one of the city's ten best new restaurants of 2019 by The Oregonian and was featured on an episode of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2020. Yonder closed on June 26, 2022, when Lovelace converted the space into Hissyfit.
