Metro Diner is an American casual dining restaurant chain headquartered in Tampa, Florida. It has 58 locations throughout the United States and was featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2010.
Metro Diner has roots back to 1938 when the first diner was opened in Jacksonville, Florida. It was not officially branded as Metro Diner until 1992 and was purchased by brothers Mark and John Davoli (Jr.) in 2000. [1] Their father joined them a few years later and expanded to several locations in the Jacksonville area, including Mandarin, Ortega, and Jacksonville Beach. In 2010, Metro Diner was featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives . [2]
ConSul Hospitality Group, made up of Chris Sullivan and Hugh Connerty, partnered with the Davoli family in 2014 to help expand the chain. At that time, the chain had nine locations. [1] By 2018, Metro Diner opened its 50th restaurant [3] and by 2020 had 58 locations throughout the United States. [4]

[3] It also has a location known as Metro Diner Express for contactless ordering and payment, developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States in 2020. [5]

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is an American food reality television series that has aired on the Food Network since April 23, 2007. It is hosted by Guy Fieri, and in recent episodes Hunter Fieri has joined his dad in exploring cuisines and restaurants. The show originally began as a one-off special that aired on November 6, 2006. The show features a "road trip" concept, similar to Road Tasted, Giada's Weekend Getaways, and $40 a Day. Fieri travels around the United States, Canada, and Mexico, looking at various diners, drive-in restaurants, and dive bars. He has also featured restaurants in European cities, including London and Florence, as well as in Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Taco Bus restaurants serve Mexican food in the Tampa, Florida area. The restaurants began as a popular food truck on Hillsborough Avenue. A second location followed on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida and a restaurant was added on Franklin Street in downtown Tampa. Taco Bus opened their fourth location near USF on Fletcher Avenue. Rene Valenzuela is chef and owner of the business. A location in Brandon at 311 South Falkenburg is scheduled to open in spring 2013. The USF location was reported to be open 24 hours.

Mitchell's Ocean Club opened in August 2006, starting the Ocean Prime brand in Columbus, Ohio, and the first Ocean Prime outside of Ohio opened in Troy, Michigan in June 2008. Ocean Prime Sarasota will open late 2024 and Ocean Prime Nashville will open in 2025.
Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe is a diner in northern California named after the Clash song, "Rudie Can't Fail". Rudy's is part-owned by Mike Dirnt from Green Day, and was featured on the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Byways Cafe was a diner in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon, United States. Owners, Collin McFadden and Megan Brinkley, opened the restaurant in 1999, serving American breakfast and brunch comfort foods such as corned beef hash, omelets, and pancakes. Guy Fieri visited the diner for a 2007 episode of the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Byways received generally positive receptions and was voted the city's "best brunch spot" by readers of The Oregonian in 2016. It closed in late 2019, after the owners were unable to reach a lease agreement with the landlord.
Arleta Library Bakery & Cafe was a restaurant in the Mt. Scott-Arleta district of southeast Portland, Oregon, United States. Sarah and Nick Iannarone established Arleta in 2005, and it closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant at Lake Austin opened as Omelettry West in 1979, and became known as Magnolia Cafe during 1986–1987. The South Congress restaurant opened in 1988. The business was named one of the city's ten best new restaurants of 2019 by The Oregonian and was featured on an episode of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2020. Yonder closed on June 26, 2022, when Lovelace converted the space into Hissyfit.
Bok a Bok Fried Chicken, or simply Bok a Bok, is a restaurant chain in the U.S. state of Washington. The business specializes in Korean-style fried chicken; the menu has also included chicken sandwiches, kimchi mac and cheese, and tots with Chile salt. There are five locations as of 2021. The business started in White Center and later expanded to Burien, the University District, and Capitol Hill. Plans to expand to Kirkland were announced in 2021.
