Hamden is a town in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. The town's nickname is "The Land of the Sleeping Giant". The town is part of the South Central Connecticut Planning Region. The population was 61,169 at the 2020 census.

In September 2007 a team of four 8th grade students from EHA won Gold Medals in the Science Olympics held at Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall which tested teams of students in the subject areas of Physics, Chemistry, Geology, and Biology.
