MGZAVREBI is a Georgian group formed in 2006.
MGZAVREBI was founded in 2006 by Gigi Dedalamazishvili, an actor from Tbilisi, Georgia. [1] The grandfather of Gigi Dedalamazishvili was a conductor and he taught Gigi how to play piano and together with his mother supported Gigi getting a music education, but Gigi did not enjoy going to music school when he was young. [2] Already after the start of his career as an actor, Gigi formed a music band in 2006 with initially only three musicians in it. [3] The number of group participants varied within following years reaching 17–18 people but eventually MGZAVREBI included 7 professional musicians. [1]
The band released its first album "Me Movigone" in 2008. MGZAVREBI became popular after the song played in Davit Imedashvili's movie "Dream Town" (2010, Georgian :ოცნების ქალაქი). [4] In 2013 they recorded an album "Wait live wait" (Russian : "Ждать жить ждать") together with a Russian writer Yevgeni Grishkovetz reaching 6th place in the most downloaded albums in Russian iTunes. [5] In 2016 MGZAVREBI won a "Chart Dozen" Award from a Russian Nashe Radio station in the "Breakthrough" nomination; the group was also nominated in the category "Song of the year" with the composition "Let's break through" (Russian : Прорвемся) but eventually lost to the Russian rock band Animal Jazz. [6] In 2017, MGZAVREBI won the "Golden Gargoyle" award in the nomination "Best group". [7] In 2018, a music video of the song "Promise" Russian : Пообещай) directed by Ivan Sosnin was nominated by the Berlin Music Video Awards in the section Best Low Budget. [8] In 2023 a famous Georgian director Lado Kvataniya, who previously collaborated with Kanye West, Manizha, and Oxxxymiron, released a short music film called Waltz featuring Mgzavrebi. [9]
The name of the band means "Travellers". [1] The musical style of the group is a combination of traditional Georgian singing and the modern sound of national instruments, such as panduri. MGZAVREBI lyrics are mostly in Georgian but also include several songs in Russian and Ukrainian. [10] After February 2022, the group decided to cancel all their concerts and not to give any new concerts in Russia. [11]

VIA Gra, known outside of Ukraine and other nearby countries as Nu Virgos, is a Russian/Ukrainian girl group. The name VIA Gra is a triple wordplay; it is an allusion to the drug Viagra, the first three letters "ВИА" ("VIA") also stand for "vocal-instrumental ensemble" in Ukrainian, and "Гра" ("hra") means "game" or "play" in Ukrainian, and is also a kind of signature of the surnames of the two first girls of the group, VI-nnytsk-A and GR-anovsk-A, the originally used maiden name of Nadia Meiher. Nu Virgos rose to prominence when they hit the charts in the countries of CIS in September 2000, with their debut single "Popytka No. 5". Their first success outside the Russian language area was in May 2004, with the single "Stop! Stop! Stop!", an English version of their 2002 Russian song. The group is known for their frequent lineup changes, with 13 different individuals having at one time been in the group. The group was co-created by Dmitriy Kostyuk and Konstantin Meladze. Kostyuk is the manager of the group and the co-producer of the group's albums. Meladze is the writer of the group's songs and the co-producer of the group's albums.

Mumiy Troll is a Russian rock group, founded in 1983 in Vladivostok by vocalist and songwriter Ilya Lagutenko. The name is a pun on Mumintroll, the children's books by Tove Jansson, translated into Russian as "Mummi Troll".
Kino is a Soviet rock band formed in Leningrad in 1981. The band was co-founded and headed by Viktor Tsoi, who wrote the music and lyrics for almost all of the band's songs, until his death in 1990. Over the course of eight years, Kino released over 90 songs spanning over seven studio albums, as well as releasing a few compilations and live albums. The band's music was also widely circulated in the form of bootleg recordings through the underground magnitizdat distribution scene. Viktor Tsoi died in a car accident in 1990. Shortly after his death, the band broke up after releasing their final album, consisting of songs that Tsoi and the group were working on in the months before his death.

Gruppa krovi is the sixth studio album by Soviet rock band Kino, first released in 1988. Released at the height of Perestroika and Glasnost, together with a crime thriller titled The Needle released in the same year starring lead vocalist Viktor Tsoi, it would go on to be the band's most popular album both inside and eventually outside the Soviet Union, with songs from the album, including the title track, commonly being listed among top 100 lists of Russian music.
Daniel James Hall is an Australian musician from Melbourne who has been in two rock bands, Taxiride and Airway Lanes. With Taxiride, as guitarist, pianist and vocalist, he had a top 10 hit on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Singles Chart with "Get Set" and a No. 1 album with Imaginate in 1999 on the related Albums Chart. He left Taxiride in 2001 to begin a solo career. He provided vocals for "Don't Look Back" which was used on TV soap opera, Neighbours. He later formed Airway Lanes in late 2004. They released their debut album, In Vino Veritas in May 2008 with its lead single, "Don't Let Go", chosen as iTunes' 'Single of the Week'.
Valerian Shotayevich Meladze, known professionally as Valery Meladze, is a Georgian singer and a Meritorious Artist of Russia. He is the brother of composer and producer Konstantin Meladze, who writes songs for him.
Diskoteka "Avaria" are a Russian band from Ivanovo, Russia. The trio consists of Anna Khokhlova, Aleksey Borisovich Serov and Aleksey Olegovich Ryzhov. Its former members include vocalist Nikolay Stagoranovich Timofeev, who left in July 2012, and rapper Oleg Yevgenyevich Zhukov, who died on February 9, 2002, of cancer.
Serebro was a Russian girl group formed by their manager and producer Maxim Fadeev. Serebro was formed in 2007, consisting of Marina Lizorkina, Olga Seryabkina, and Elena Temnikova as a submitted proposal for consideration by Channel One Russia for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Serebro was selected to represent Russia at the 2007 Contest with the song titled "Song #1". They subsequently placed third at the contest, scoring a total of 207 points. Serebro was then officially signed to Fadeev's record label Monolit Records, and in 2012, the group had additional releases produced by Sony Music Entertainment and Ego Music. In 2009, Lizorkina announced her departure from the group; she was subsequently replaced by Anastasia Karpova. Karpova left the group in 2013 and was replaced by Dasha Shashina, who left in 2016. Temnikova left the group in 2014 due to health reasons, and Polina Favorskaya, who replaced Temnikova, left the group in 2017. Favorskaya was later replaced by Morgunova. In 2019, the line-up Olga Seryabkina, Katya Kischuk, and Tatiana Morgunova, the last one to include the last original member, has been replaced by Elizaveta Kornilova, Marianna Kochurova and Irina Titova.
