Mia Healey is an Australian actress and model. She played Shelby Goodkind on two series of Prime Video series The Wilds .

Early life

She was born in Sydney. [1] She attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, graduating in 2017 with a Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance. [2] [3] [4]

Career

She was given a lead role as Shelby Goodkind in Amazon Prime Video survivalist drama The Wilds in 2018. [5] [6] In two series of The Wilds she played a secretive beauty pageant queen from Texas. [7] [8] [9] She has also appeared in short films Shark, My Heart Calls For You, and The Stray. [10] She also appeared in feature film Black Spartans.

In 2023, she was cast in a recurring role in coming-of-age drama Motorheads for Amazon Prime Video. [11] In 2024, she was cast in a lead role in the film The Monster alongside Djimon Hounsou. [12]

As well as working as an actress she has worked as a model. [13] [2] [14] Her clients have included Bulgari , [3] [4] Dior , [15] and fashion label Aje. [16]

Personal life

She has described Cate Blanchett as her acting "hero". [17] As of January 2024, she has been in a relationship with fellow actor Michael Gandolfini. [18] She identifies as Bisexual [19]

The series revolves around a group of teenage girls who are left stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash, but are unaware they are the subjects of a social experiment. The cast features Sophia Ali, Reign Edwards, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, and Rachel Griffiths. The first season was released on Amazon Prime Video on December 11, 2020, and received positive reviews from critics, with praise for the performances, writing, and plot. In December 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on May 6, 2022. In July 2022, the series was canceled after two seasons.

Tár is a 2022 psychological drama film written and directed by Todd Field. Cate Blanchett stars as Lydia Tár, a world-renowned conductor, whose life unravels after being accused of misconduct. The supporting cast includes Nina Hoss, Noémie Merlant, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Mark Strong. Tár premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in September 2022, where Blanchett won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.
