Shillong Lajong FC is an Indian professional football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. The club will compete in the I-League, the second tier of Indian football, following promotion from the 2022–23 I-League 2.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, locally known as Polo Ground, is a football stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. It has most notably hosted the home matches of Shillong Lajong FC in the I-League. The stadium has a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.
The 2011 IFA shield was held in Kolkata starting from 11 March, with a total of 10 teams including a Chinese super league team participating. Teams were divided into 2 groups and played each other with the top 2 advancing to the semifinals. This was the 115th edition of the tournament.

The top eight teams from the 2016–17 I-League season participated in the tournament hosted solely in Cuttack, Odisha. The tournament is set to take place between 7 May to 21 May 2017. 2022–23 Hero I-League 2 was the 15th season of the I-League 2 since its establishment in 2008. This was the first season of I-League 2 since rebranding as the third tier of Indian football league system. The league's group stage has been played from March to May 2023, parallel to the remaining part of both I-League and Indian Super League seasons. The top two teams on the league table Delhi FC and Shillong Lajong secured a place in the 2023–24 I-League season.
