Michael Benstrong is a Seychellois banker who served as Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Investment, Entrepreneurship, Development and Business Innovation. [1] [2]

Education and career

Michael Benstrong holds a bachelor's degree in business studies majoring in finance and accounting. He held several executive positions in the banking and finance sector including serving as deputy managing director of the Seychelles Savings Bank and chief executive officer of the Seychelles Commercial Bank. [3] He was appointed to cabinet portfolio in 2015 as a pioneer minister of the newly created Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship, Development and Business Innovation and later reshuffled to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries during the administration of President Danny Faure. [4]

She was director of human resources at the ministry of Health from 2006 to 2009 and was appointed chief executive officer of Seychelles National Youth Council in 2010. In 2011, President James Michell appointed him his principal secretary. Alexander served as minister of Labour and Human Resource Development and minister of Youth, Sports and Culture from 2016 to 2017 in the cabinet of President Dany Faure.
