Michael Bresagk (born 24 February 1970) is a German former ice hockey defenceman.
Bresagk began his career with PEV Weißwasser and then moved to EV Landshut where he spent five season before moving to France to play in the Ligue Magnus for Brest Albatros Hockey, guiding them to the Magnus Cup in his one season in 1997.
He then moved back to Germany to play for the Frankfurt Lions. He helped the Lions capture the DEL Championship in 2004, their first in history. The achievement marked a complete turnaround for the Lions who in the previous season were supposedly relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga but were allowed back into the DEL due to the financial collapse of the Schwenninger Wild Wings.
However, in recent years the Lions themselves would suffer from mounting financial difficulties and subsequently folded after the 2009-10 season despite finished second in the league. Bresagk would retire as a player afterwards.

The Deutsche Eishockey Liga or DEL, is a German professional ice hockey league and the highest division in German ice hockey. Founded in 1994, it was formed as a replacement for the Eishockey-Bundesliga and became the new top-tier league in Germany as a result. Unlike the old Bundesliga, the DEL is not under the administration of the German Ice Hockey Federation.

The Iserlohn Roosters are a professional ice hockey team based in Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia. They are members of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) since 2000 and play their home games at the Balver-Zinn Arena which is also known as Eissporthalle am Seilersee. The team made the playoffs three times in its first 15 seasons in the DEL. The Roosters are widely regarded for their fans and having one of the best atmospheres at home games in Europe despite having an arena capacity for just 4,967 spectators. The club caused much controversy in 1987 when, under Heinz Weifenbach, a US$900,000 advertising deal was signed for former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's The Green Book. The book is widely acknowledged as having been inspired by Mao Zedong's The Little Red Book.
Richard Regehr is an Indonesian-born Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for EC KAC of the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). Regehr's older brother is former Stanley Cup winning defenceman Robyn Regehr.
The Hamburg Freezers were a professional men's ice hockey club from Hamburg, Germany that played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The club announced its withdrawal from the DEL and ceased operations on 24 May 2016 when Anschutz Entertainment Group, who owned both the Freezers and Eisbären Berlin, felt it was no longer financially viable to own two teams within the same hockey league.

William Alexander "Whip" Lochead is a retired ice hockey forward and current hockey player agent. He started his junior hockey career in 1969–70 with the Sarnia Bees of OHA Western Jr. B league. In 1970-71 he established the current Western Jr. B goal scoring record of 72 goals in 42 games. Lochead was drafted 2nd overall to the OHA Oshawa Generals in 1971. He was then drafted 1st by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1974 NHL draft. He was also selected 3rd by the Indianapolis Racers in the 1974 WHA draft. He was known as Billy Lochead during his playing days in the NHL and was nicknamed "Whip".

The EC Kassel Huskies are a professional ice hockey club based in Kassel, Hessen, Germany. The club currently competes in DEL2, the second level of ice hockey in Germany. The Huskies were founded in 1977 and have competed in the top five levels of the hockey in Germany since that time. Kassel's home barn is the Eissporthalle Kassel, which has a capacity of 6,100. The club's nickname is the Sled Dogs. Kassel has won two second level championships in 2008 and 2016 and have won one top level junior championship in 2004. The Huskies have finished runner-up in Germany's top league, DEL, in 1997 and have been beaten finalists in the Deutscher Eishockey-Pokal in 2004.
