Michael William Buckley [1] (born August 16, 1969) is an American children's author whose works include The Sisters Grimm , the N.E.R.D.S. book series, and Finn and the Intergalactic Lunchbox. He is also the co-creator of the animated TV series Robotomy.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Michael Buckley attended Ohio University, where he graduated with honors. [2] Shortly after graduating from Ohio University in 1986, Buckley moved to New York City. [3]
Sometime after college Buckley moved to New York City to start an internship with the Late Show with David Letterman , then moved into a television production job where he worked on documentaries. [4] His books are published by Harry N. Abrams. Buckley worked as a stand-up comic as well as a TV copywriter before he started to write The Sisters Grimm series. [3] Buckley had originally planned for The Sisters Grimm to be a television series until his wife suggested turning it into a book. [5]
In 2010, Buckley and his writing partner, Joe Deasy, created an animated series for Cartoon Network called Robotomy , which lasted one season. Buckley and Deasy executive produced as well as wrote the first season that starred Patton Oswalt and Dana Snyder (Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force ). The series aired in CN's prime time block.
He is currently writing the screenplay for a N.E.R.D.S. animated feature developed by Elton John's Rocket Pictures. [6] He also recently finished his new series, Undertow.

The series revolves around Thrasher and Blastus, two teenage alien robots who live in the planet Insanus. It was produced by Cartoon Network Studios and World Leaders Entertainment, and co-executive produced and directed by Christy Karacas, creator of Superjail! and Ballmastrz: 9009. The series was the result of numerous failed pitches to the network by the creators.

Michael Hughes, popularly known as "Mad" Mike Hughes, was an American limousine driver, professed flat-Earther, and daredevil known for flying in self-built steam rockets. He died on February 22, 2020, while filming a stunt for an upcoming Science Channel television series. Although a public promoter of the flat Earth model, following his death his public relations representative said that Hughes had only used flat Earth as a PR stunt to acquire funding for his rockets.
