Michael Chaves (born November 3, 1984) is an American filmmaker and visual effects artist, best known for his work on the miniseries Chase Champion [1] and the theatrical films The Curse of La Llorona , The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It , and The Nun II . [2] [3]
Chaves began directing several short films including The Maiden, which won the Best Super Short Horror Film Award at Shriekfest 2016. [4] He also created the television series Chase Champion , and directed all of the episodes. [5] [6] [1]
He transitioned to feature-length filmmaking with horror films The Curse of La Llorona , [7] The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It , [3] and The Nun II , [8] all produced by James Wan. The latter two films are the seventh and eighth installments of The Conjuring Universe, respectively. He is also signed on to direct another horror film, The Reckoning, for Michael Bay, Bradley Fuller, and Andrew Form, under Platinum Dunes, with a script written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. La Llorona is a vengeful ghost in Mexican folklore who is said to roam near bodies of water mourning her children whom she drowned in a jealous rage after discovering her husband was unfaithful to her. Whoever heard her crying either suffer misfortune or death and their life become pitiful and unsuccessful in every field.
James Wan is an Australian filmmaker. He has primarily worked in the horror genre as the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises and the creator of The Conjuring Universe. The lattermost is the highest-grossing horror franchise at over $2 billion. Wan is also the founder of film and television production company Atomic Monster.
Edward Warren Miney and Lorraine Rita Warren were American paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of alleged hauntings. Edward was a self-taught and self-professed demonologist, author, and lecturer. Lorraine professed to be clairvoyant and a light trance medium who worked closely with her husband.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is an American screenwriter and producer of film and television. Annabelle is an allegedly-haunted Raggedy Ann doll, housed in the now closed occult museum of the paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. He made his directorial debut with the latter film. Dauberman also co-wrote the supernatural horror film It (2017), and wrote its follow-up It Chapter Two (2019), which are based on the novel of the same name.
