Michael Johnson (born August 25, 1981) is a Canadian IFBB professional bodybuilder. [2] He won the title of Mr. World Canada in 2011.

Biography

Early in his life, Johnson admired the physiques of professional wrestlers and developed a love for bodybuilding. At age 17, he was nicknamed "Tiny" due to being only 5'8" (1.73 m) and weighing 135 lbs (62 kg). Over the course of a year, Johnson gained 30 lbs of muscle. In January 1999, he joined the Canadian Infantry Reserves before later choosing to study for a college degree in Kinesiology in September 1999.

Johnson entered his first bodybuilding contest in 2002 where he took 1st Place at the Mens Junior Atlantic Championships. He earned his IFBB Pro card in 2011 when he won the Canadian National Championships in the Mens Superheavyweight Class.

National Physique Committee

The National Physique Committee (NPC) is the largest amateur bodybuilding organization in the United States. Amateur bodybuilders compete in competitions from local to national competitions sanctioned by the NPC. The NPC is the only amateur organization recognized by the IFBB Pro League. Female bodybuilding

Female bodybuilding is the female component of competitive bodybuilding. It began in the late 1970s when women began to take part in bodybuilding competitions.

The Ms. International female bodybuilding contest was considered to be the second-most prestigious competition for female bodybuilders, from its inception in 1986 through 2013. It was first held in 1986 by the International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB.). In 1987, the IFBB allowed the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) to sanction the Ms. International as an amateur event. In 1988, the contest was again sanctioned by the IFBB. From 1989 on, the contest was part of the Arnold Sports Festival.
