Michael Schlow

Michael Schlow (born c. 1964, [1] Brooklyn) is a Boston based chef and restaurateur. His restaurants include Via Matta, Radius, and Tico [2] (there are also six Washington, DC area restaurants). [3] Both Via Matta and Radius were opened with Boston restaurateur Christopher Myers. [4] He was a Master Contestant on Season One, Episode One of Top Chef Masters (season 1). [5]

Schlow was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Somerville, New Jersey. He graduated from high school there. [6]

Career

Schlow gave up a baseball scholarship to attend the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College in New Jersey. [7] He began his career in New York City and then Long Island before moving to Boston [8] in 1995 to cook at Café Louis. [9]
