Michaela Kardeis (born 5 March 1972) was the Director General for the Public Security in the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. Previously she served as police vice-president at the state police directorate Vienna. [1]

Scotland Yard is the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police,the territorial police force responsible for policing Greater London's 32 boroughs. Its name derives from the location of the original Metropolitan Police headquarters at 4 Whitehall Place,which had its main public entrance on the Westminster street called Great Scotland Yard. The Scotland Yard entrance became the public entrance,and over time "Scotland Yard" came to be used not only as the common name of the headquarters building,but also as a metonym for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) itself and police officers,especially detectives,who serve in it. The New York Times wrote in 1964 that,just as Wall Street gave its name to New York's financial district,Scotland Yard became the name for police activity in London.

Peter William Sutcliffe,also known as Peter Coonan,was an English serial killer who was convicted of murdering thirteen women and attempting to murder seven others between 1975 and 1980. He was dubbed in press reports as the Yorkshire Ripper,an allusion to the Victorian serial killer Jack the Ripper. He was sentenced to twenty concurrent sentences of life imprisonment,which were converted to a whole life order in 2010. Two of Sutcliffe's murders took place in Manchester;all the others were in West Yorkshire. Its primary concerns are incidents of police brutality and racially motivated violence against black people. It started following the killings of Trayvon Martin,Michael Brown,Eric Garner,and Rekia Boyd,among others. The movement and its related organizations typically advocate for various policy changes considered to be related to black liberation. While there are specific organizations that label themselves simply as "Black Lives Matter," such as the Black Lives Matter Global Network,the overall movement is a decentralized network of people and organizations with no formal hierarchy. The slogan "Black Lives Matter" itself remains untrademarked by any group. Despite being characterized by some as a violent movement,the overwhelming majority of its public demonstrations have been peaceful.
In the early afternoon of Wednesday,January 6,2021,two months after the defeat of 45th U.S. president Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election,a mob of his supporters attacked the United States Capitol Building in Washington,D.C. The mob sought to keep Trump in power by preventing a joint session of Congress from counting the Electoral College votes to formalize the victory of President-elect Joe Biden. According to the House select committee that investigated the incident,the attack was the culmination of a seven-part plan by Trump to overturn the election.
