Michel Nadeau (8 Novembre 1946 - 19 October 2021) was a Canadian administrator and journalist. He served as Director-General of the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations. [1]

Biography

From 1974 to 1984, Nadeau was a columnist and financial editor for Le Devoir . He then held several senior management positions at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec for 18 years. He was chairman of CDP Capital, which held over $125 billion in assets. [2] For several years, he sat on the corporate governance committee of the Pension Investment Association of Canada. [1] He served on the boards of directors of several corporations and non-profit organizations, such as the Montreal World Film Festival.

Michel Nadeau died on 19 October 2021 at the age of 75. [3]

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is an institutional investor that manages several public and parapublic pension plans and insurance programs in the Canadian province of Quebec. It was established in 1965 by an act of the National Assembly, under the government of Jean Lesage, as part of the Quiet Revolution, a period of social and political change in Quebec. It is the second-largest pension fund in Canada, after the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. It was created to manage the funds of the newly created Quebec Pension Plan, a public pension plan that aimed to provide financial security for Quebecers in retirement. The CDPQ’s mandate was to invest the funds prudently and profitably while also contributing to Quebec’s economic development. As of December 31, 2023, the CDPQ managed assets of C$434 billion, invested in Canada and elsewhere. The CDPQ is headquartered in Quebec City at the Price building and has its main business office in Montreal at the Édifice Jacques-Parizeau.

Michael John Sabia is a Canadian businessman and civil servant. From 2009 until January 2020, Sabia was president and CEO of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He previously was CEO of BCE Inc. from 2002 to 2008. In November 2019, the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy announced that Sabia would be its new director. He was in that role from February to December 2020, when he was appointed by the Government of Canada as Deputy Minister of Finance.
