Michelbeuern-AKH is a station on U6 of the Vienna U-Bahn. [1] It is located in the Alsergrund District and is the station that serves the Vienna General Hospital (AKH). It opened in 1989. Passengers can change to the tram line 42.
Alsergrund is the ninth district of Vienna, Austria. It is located just north of the first, central district, Innere Stadt. Alsergrund was incorporated in 1862, with seven suburbs. As a central district, the area is densely populated. According to the census of 2001, there were 37,816 inhabitants over 2.99 square km.
The Vienna U-Bahn, where U-Bahn is an abbreviation of the German word Untergrundbahn, is a rapid transit system serving Vienna, Austria. The five-line network consists of 83.1 kilometers (51.6 mi) of route, serving 109 stations. The Gürtel is a substantial beltway of Vienna. Running 13.1 km (8.1 mi) parallel to the famous Vienna Ring Road, it encompasses the inner city districts (Innenbezirke) and follows the route of the former Linienwall outer fortification. The city's red-light district is situated around the Gürtel.

Line U6 is a line on the Vienna U-Bahn. It currently has 24 stations and runs 17.3 km from Floridsdorf to Siebenhirten. It is connected to U4 at Längenfeldgasse, U3 at Westbahnhof and U4 at Spittelau. The first section of the line opened in 1989, and was completed at its present length in 1996. It is the only metro line in the DACH countries which is not operated by third rail but by overhead wire; this is because the centre portion of the line is an elevated part of the former Vienna Stadtbahn system, which was operated by overhead wire.
