Michelle Fleury (born 1971) is a journalist who is the BBC's New York business correspondent and a reporter for BBC World News. [1] In 2019, she co-hosted the BBC News programme Beyond 100 Days with Christian Fraser while Katty Kay had a three month sabbatical.

Career

Fleury has covered American business and economics for more than 10 years and regularly reports live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on financial markets. [1]

As well as speaking at conferences, Fleury has presented a variety of general news programmes on BBC World News, including World News America and half-hour, business-focused special programming such as Working Lives. [1]

Personal life

Fleury was born in London in 1971 and graduated from Warwick University. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. [1]

The programme examines the inner workings of business, translating complex financial stories to give viewers a clearer understanding of the rapidly changing global economy, and how it will impact on their lives. It also includes the top global news stories of the day as well as weather updates.

The Context is a live current affairs programme that airs Monday to Thursday on the BBC News Channel, BBC Parliament and BBC World News. Under the names 100 Days, 100 Days+, Beyond 100 Days and BBC News with Katty and Christian, it was jointly hosted live by Katty Kay from Washington D.C. and Christian Fraser from London, and ran on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News from the inauguration of President Donald Trump until the departure of Kay from the BBC in June 2021. It focused on the current US Administration, global politics, Brexit and news from around the world, with attempted punches of irreverent wit and fun. Fraser occasionally presented from Brussels and also from the BBC Singapore Studio for a week during the 2018 North Korea–United States summit. For a week in May 2018, Kay and Fraser were both presenting from London and Windsor during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
