Michelle McDowell MBE, FREng, is a British civil engineer. She is Non-Executive Director of Civic Engineers and in 2009 was the first woman to be elected chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering.

Life

McDowell graduated from University of Bristol. [1]

She worked for WS Atkins, John Laing Construction, Whitby Bird, and Building Design Partnership. [2] She has managed renovation projects such as Palace of Westminster, No 1 Court, and Royal Albert Hall. [1]

She is a director at Civic+. [3]

In 2009 was the first woman to be elected chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering. [4]

Honours and recognition

McDowell was awarded a Doctor of Engineering (honoris causa) by the University of Bristol in 2012. [5]
