Michael Frederick Billmeyer (born April 24, 1964) is a former baseball player who most recently served as the bullpen coach for the Detroit Tigers during the 2017 season. Mick now retired in Maryland.
Billmeyer was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round of the 1985 Major League Baseball Draft. As a catcher, he played in the Orioles, Texas Rangers, and California Angels organizations. Billmeyer played nine seasons in the minor leagues, mostly at the Single-A level, and advanced as far as Triple-A. [1] He did not play in the Major Leagues. Early in his playing career, Billmeyer went by "Mickey", a shorthand form of his given name of Michael. [2] Later in his playing career, "Mickey" was shortened further to "Mick". [3]
Billmeyer began a career in coaching after his playing career came to an end. From 1994 to 1999 he was the bullpen/workout coordinator for the Angels. He joined the Phillies organization in 2000, working as a catching coordinator for the organization through the 2003 season. From 2004 to 2008 he served as the Phillies Major League catching coach, and then served as the bullpen coach from 2009 to 2012. For the 2013 season, Billmeyer returned to the role of major league catching coach. During his time with the Phillies, Billmeyer served under managers Larry Bowa, Gary Varsho, Charlie Manuel, and Ryne Sandberg. As the catching coach, he was a member of the 2008 World Series Championship team.
Following the 2013 season, the Phillies announced they would not be renewing Billmeyer's contract. [4]
On November 18, 2013, the Tigers announced the hiring of Billmeyer as their bullpen coach. [5]
John Rikard Dempsey is an American former professional baseball player. He played for 24 seasons as a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1992, most prominently for the Baltimore Orioles where he played for 10 years and was a member of the 1983 World Series winning team. Dempsey was known for being one of the best defensive catchers of his era. In 1997, he was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame.
William Joseph Haselman is an American professional baseball coach and former player. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 13 seasons between 1990 and 2003. A first-round selection in the 1987 MLB draft, he played for the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. He previously was the bullpen coach and first base coach for the Red Sox and the third base coach for the Los Angeles Angels. He has also served as a manager in Minor League Baseball.

Juan Milton Samuel is a Dominican former professional baseball second baseman and outfielder who played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). A three-time National League (NL) All-Star, he appeared in the 1983 World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies. Samuel served as interim manager for the Baltimore Orioles during the 2010 MLB season, as well as many years in MLB coaching ranks. Known widely for his unique combination of speed and power, Samuel was inducted into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame, in 2010.

He played in Major League Baseball as a left-handed pitcher from 1975 to 1993, most notably as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers with whom he won the 1982 American League pennant. Following his playing career, he has served as a coach for several MLB teams.

He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1968 through 1979, most notably as a member of the Baltimore Orioles dynasty that won three consecutive American League pennants from 1969 to 1971 and, won the World Series in 1970. He also played for the Chicago Cubs (1972) and New York Yankees (1976–1977). In 2001, he was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame.

He is currently the bench coach and hitting coach for the Tulsa Drillers in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

Craig Francis Albernaz is an American professional baseball coach for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He currently serves as their bench coach. He played college baseball for Eckerd College. Albernaz signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as a free agent in 2006. He was formerly the bullpen and catching coach for the San Francisco Giants.
