Mick Moss (8 August 1975) is an English singer/songwriter. He is best known for his role in the band Antimatter, as well as being co-vocalist on the Number 1 single 'Broken Smile' (The Beautified Project). [1]
Moss began writing music for a solo career in 1995 after numerous disappointments with previous bands, the idea being that no longer could a key member pull out leaving the current project in ruins. [2]
From 96–98 the solo project went through numerous name changes, from ‘The Reptile Brain’, to ‘Heavy Soul’ and eventually ‘Cloud One’. The style of music early on was instrumental with a strong leaning towards rhythmic psychedelic rock/trance. The addition of vocals to Moss’s abilities in 1996 led to a shift in musical direction, where the writing turned to dark, melodic acoustic rock. During this period he wrote and recorded key tracks ‘Over Your Shoulder’, ‘Saviour’, ‘Too Late’ and ‘Angel’ (later re-titled to ‘Angelic’). [3]
Antimatter was formed in 1998 [4] when Duncan Patterson (then of Anathema) approached Moss to record an album with him after hearing Moss's demos which bore a striking resemblance to his own newer material on Anathema's 'Alternative 4' album (neither party had heard the others latest material).
The project was titled 'Antimatter' by Patterson, and would record their debut album in 2000. The album 'Saviour' featured an even split of songs written separately by Patterson and Moss.[ citation needed ] This method of writing alone and then compiling completed songs into one album would continue for the course of Patterson's involvement in the project. Patterson decided he’d had enough of Antimatter after the release of the third album ‘Planetary Confinement’. Due to the non-collaborative nature of the previous albums, Moss (with Patterson’s blessing) continued with the projects name, [5] writing and releasing the entirety of the fourth album, ‘Leaving Eden’, and continuing to tour performing Antimatter songs of his own composition. [6]
In 2008, Mick established his own record label ‘Music In Stone’, releasing Antimatter's Live@An Club.
From 2009 – 2010 Moss compiled the 3CD/DVD, 100 page artbook 'Alternative Matter', producing the 30 minute documentary 'The Small Yesterdays'.

Anathema were an English rock band from Liverpool. The group was formed in 1990 by Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist John Douglas, and vocalist Darren White.

Antimatter, a UK dark rock band, is the solo project of longtime founding member Mick Moss. The project was originally a duo composed of founding member Duncan Patterson and Moss, being essentially an amalgamation of two solo projects working in tandem with each other, with each member writing and arranging their songs alone and compiling them in the studio later on to create an album. In this manner, the pair released three albums together, Saviour, Lights Out and Planetary Confinement, after which Patterson left, in 2005, to start another band Íon. Moss continued Antimatter as an extension of his own timeline established throughout the first three discs, releasing the project's fourth album Leaving Eden in 2007. Moss followed with 'Live@An Club',, Alternative Matter, Fear of a Unique Identity, The Judas Table, "Too Late", Welcome To The Machine, Live Between The Earth & Clouds, and, most recently, Black Market Enlightenment in 2018.
Victoria Bergsman is a Swedish songwriter, musician, and vocalist best known as singer of the indie pop band The Concretes from 1995 to 2006. Since announcing her departure from the band on 24 July 2006 she has been recording for her new solo project Taken by Trees. Bergsman also provided guest vocals for the hit Peter Bjorn and John single "Young Folks" from the album Writer's Block.

Daniel Cavanagh is an English guitarist and singer who formed the British band Anathema in 1990 with his brother Vincent Cavanagh. He is the band's principal songwriter, a role he had previously shared with bassist Duncan Patterson until Patterson's departure in 1998.
Leaving Eden is the fourth album by the UK band Antimatter. It was released on 13 April 2007. It also marks the first Antimatter album to be written entirely by Mick Moss since the departure of Duncan Patterson two years earlier.

After Sean Else left in 2006, the boy band continued as a trio. Black Market Enlightenment is the seventh album by the UK art rock band Antimatter, released on 9 November 2018 by Music In Stone. A lead video-single 'The Third Arm' was released on 5 October 2018. It is the 4th consecutive Antimatter studio album to be written entirely by Mick Moss, the previous 3 being Leaving Eden, Fear of a Unique Identity and The Judas Table.

I would go on to put out 7 more Antimatter releases over the next decade as well as launching the Sleeping Pulse project with Luis, and having a number one with The Beautified Project.
